I have the T4Plus which is essentially the same tent, but you can open up the one side more fully to be a “screened in porch” set up if you prefer. If you want purely sleeping quarters you just keep the sides zipped up on the “plus” side and it’s essentially the same as the T8. I preferred the doors on the T4plus as they open wider and I do use it as a covered porch and cooking area when I dont need the sleeping space. It’s a fabulous tent!

I looked very closely at the T4 plus and the reason I ended up going with the T8 was I didn't want to take the extra time to put in those 3 poles around the opening. If I want so lazy to spend the extra 2 minutes with the poles I probably would have gotten it!!

@ haha, fair enough. Probably an extra 1.5 minutes ;-)

I always put a tarp down under the tent to help protect the floor from being punctured and add another moisture barrier. Additionally, I use cheap moving blankets to put inside to add a level of insulation and help protect the floor from being punctured from the top if you put a chair or something inside the tent. I do mostly cold weather camping and I've found these measures to be very beneficial. I've only used my Gazelle T8 once so far, so I can't speak to the durability of this specific tent, but for the price, I hope it lasts at least as long as my previous tents.

Agreed, I always use a tarp underneath when actually camping. We typically use a carpet remnant on the floor. We love how comfy it is when walking around. Also helps with protection!! It should lay you a good long time! Ours is still fantastic!!

Good to hear it made it through this years. Have seen it in action a couple of times and it is like a mansion in there. That little rain tape seems like a life saver. I was also surprised with the price. I thought it was 3x the price. And on cutting the time for set up by almost half.
@DMSAdventures7 ай бұрын
Ya even though that was the best price I found... I think it was out of stock! I'd expect them to be around 700 to 800 still. Profiter but actually worth it if one can afford it! The tape is fantastic!!

Great to hear how well it’s done for you! We got the T4+ about a year ago with a half dozen setups. Sometimes it goes quick…sometimes not. Have had a few small issues but overall a great tent.

No product is perfect of course! Ya the T4 has those extra pills for the opening. That was one of the main reasons we went worth the T8! Thanks for watching!! 🤜 🤛

I asked Gazelle about the T8 and they said it’s not being discontinued, but will be available on Amazon in early April 2025. They will no longer be offering it on their website because they’re making it an exclusive for one of their customers.

That's interesting info!! Hey thanks for taking the time to post it in here for everyone! I hope mine makes it till then! I wouldn't want to replace it with any other tent if it were to finally break.

I think its called T4 Plus now, or are they different products?
@DMSAdventures5 ай бұрын
The T4 Plus and the T8 are two different products. The T4 Plus does have 2 hubs and has the same footprint size but one end is more like a screen room with a large door instead of a hub that "pops" out like all the other sides.

I have a T-3 and love it. Two issues, the stakes I got with mine stink. The door opening is not ideal. Other than that, I have really enjoyed it.
@DMSAdventures7 ай бұрын
Indeed! Trading out the stakes was the first thing I did. I kept 4 for the fly tie outs. Haha yes the door is so annoying. They should have copied the Magellan 8 person Hub Tent for the door solution. It's much better! Thanks for commenting!!
