You aren't! lol. Since my kids left home my house looks like a workshop. I do still have a 'neat space' for visitors.... People have often asked: Why on earth do you keep so much junk! Wow the gear room is incredible !! It’s like a camping store. I would love to have you choose 1 item from each category to make a complete kit. I realize a lot of the items have individual uses but if you could only pick 1 item , what would be your preferred !! You would have to knock a wall down to display everything !! Poor Nick only has 2 little boxes !! Yes you need to do several spin off videos just from this one. No rest for you !! Thank you for your time spent on videos for us !!
@Reallybigmonkey16 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pam! I'm glad you liked it that much. Choosing one item from each category would be tough for me because I choose gear depending on length of trip, season, temp, climate , terrain or location like woods, mountains, cliff areas, swamps or wetlands. Wow super awesome survival man cave. Super organized nice and neat. I bet you've had some mice get into some of your stuff and make holes. Good idea on hanging the sleeping bags. I would think it would make it harder for them to want to make a home in hanging stuff. You can buy at garage sales clothing racks, even some that spin circular racks all kinds of designs. I guess you don't have a musty basement or you would not want to store much material in it if you did. I'm impressed just how neat and organized it all is. Great job on organization. Better late then never. You have enough to equip to supply immediate family and cousins if the shit hits the fan, and replacements for when they wear out. Now all you need is a place to store dehydrated food and water. Then you're set with piece of mind to complete the man cave survival/camping equipment. Great job in how you designed the shelves to organize it all. I love, love the axe design. Is it your own axe hanging cabinet design with two small blocks to hold each?
@Reallybigmonkey16 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! I had mice in the past but luckily they never damaged anything. Yes, its got heat and air down there like the rest of the house so no problem with dampness. Funny you mentioned outfitting others, not only is this gear for myself and Nick but whenever my Dad or brother comes along I outfit them from this room too. Yes, I designed that axe cabinet. Them little blocks just have a U groove cut in them and the axe rests in the groove. Thanks for watching

You bought just anything imaginary you could lay your hands on. My latest addiction is knives and kitchen stuff. I now have the beginning of a bushcraft chest with a Fox kukri machete. Great video. Thanks!

Love, love, love your room! Although, it's not quite an ultimate man cave until you get your couches and chairs out from under the stuff and available to use. A man needs a place to stretch out amongst his equipment and just take in the magnificence of it all and then maybe drift off to sleep for a well deserved nap, planning his next trip. With love ❤ from sunny 🌅 Arizona 🌵.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it Suzi. Good idea! I need to find a place for the boxes first. Maybe scoot em out add a coffee pot and tray for doughnuts and a DVD player for Rambo movies! Thanks for watching
@suzisaintjames6 жыл бұрын
Reallybigmonkey1, truth is some of the boxes you showed us were only 3/4 full. I bet if you did some repacking, you could get that couch cleared off. My only question is where would you put the big screen tv/dvd so you can watch those Rambo movies?... P.s. as much time as you spend down there I'm surprised you don't already have a percolator and box of donuts already set up. 😉
@Reallybigmonkey16 жыл бұрын
Some boxes are packed full and some are low. I'll eventually go through all of them and consolidate. I actually don't spend much time down, I am usually at work or in my shop

One great thing about having a lot of equipment is that if you want to invite a friend that didn't have a lot of stuff, you could help outfit them so they'd be a little more comfortable. ... Nick maybe be giving you grandkids someday, you never know... Grandpa... All that equipment will be a legacy! ❤🌅🌵
