I have the Rassler, good shoe.Durability isn’t great though. Just picked up the TX Canyon. Will be running those this year. Next shoe I will try is likely the Bestard Wildwater Pro.

I'm curious whether you tried to make all the shoes weigh the same? It seems weight of shoe would be an unaccounted for variable in how quickly it loses traction.

suggest making a sand casted foot with ankle using lead or zinc. would increase stregnth, weight and distribute the weight more evenly. Question, would a size 6 have different traction effect over a larger footprint size 12? Have you reached out to the shoe manufactures to see how they test to make their traction claims? Enjoying the scientific approach to your testing. Keep it going!

Love the channel and i hate to be critical, but to make this in any way a fair test the footwear needs to be weighted equally. I expect the tx canyon is one of the heaviest which should provide more grip. But the best example is the difference between the pfd sandle and the rassler. The rassler is a lot heavier but yet has the same sole and as such, outperformed the lighter sandal.

Of the street shoes out there, I am not surprised that skate shoes are able to contend in this test, seeing as skaters want decent traction for being able to do tricks and such (of course their boards have high grit sandpaper/non skid, to increase traction so the shoe isn't doing all the work...)

Agree Chacos are terrible traction especially wet, I wasn't surprised it jetted off that wet rock at all. Why do I wear them?! :-p

more testing is more better. This reminds me of How not to channel.
