Yeesh, that thing had ALL the aftermarket catalogue thrown at it! Chrome badges, Sneaky Pete stickers, carpet, eject cig, HVAC knobs, random gauge pod (on a stock engine?) , roof scoop, wing, shorter shifter (Gen 5 knob?), etc. Stock radio / headunit fyi. Trans will feel less notchy as it heats up. That isn't the stock length for the shift knob shaft (oem is too tall, that one is too short). Grab the 'clutch improvement kit' for better clutch feel.

The Gen 2 Viper was listed at 450 horsepower and 490 ft lb of torque, however that information was wrong. The Gen 2 Viper actually had 490hp and 500 foot pounds of torque. Actually I've done a videos on this on my channel. During the last visit at the Connors Assembly plant they actually listed what the actual numbers were for the Gen 2 and it was purposely underestimated for insurance reasons. But the Gen 2 Viper truly is a special vehicle yes it's raw it's unforgiving and a lot of ways but it's so pure and that's what makes it so amazing...

Racer X, what I'm about too say doesn't have anything to do with this video but it's something that needs to be said (no worries, it's good). I have been a GM guy my entire life. I started watching your channel around 2 weeks ago when I was looking for a new car (I only buy American muscle/pony cars). Before you came along I wouldn't have ever considered driving a Dodge. There I was looking at replacing my 2012 SS Camaro (as daily driver) with a 2018 and I just wasn't happy with the way it looked. Around that time I started watching your channel and your coverage got me to look at the Challenger's. All I have too say is...wow, they are truly incredible. Well, I put my money where my mouth is and I purchased a drop dead gorgeous yellow and black 2017 Dodge Challenger RT+P. I decided to go a little mild because I just didn't know the cars. I plan to give my fiancee this one next year and buy a Hellcat Redeye for myself. Thank you for opening my eyes up to the amazing Challenger. You have a subscriber for life.

@@Jacktherippa82 No it isn't riced out, I'm just more a purist so I think especially the wing and wheels are just fucking stupid. An aftermarket exhaust, the drilled and slotted rotors are fine. I like them better with the factory look.

I believe that color scheme GTS with Silver stripes only had 61 built that year. I’m dead lucky to have one of the other 60. I know you’re a Dodge guy and had Hellcats…but have you driven a manual Hellcat? My 2017 Hellcat’s clutch pedal stiffness makes my Vipers feel like a wet noodle. Although the Vipers are tight, the seats are extremely comfortable over the long distance. The only hard thing is that there’s no dead pedal. And the Vipers pedal scheme has the pedals sort of shifted at an angle to the left. Every time I get into the Viper, after having driven the Hellcat, I accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal. Takes me about 1 minute for my brain to realign. the Viper is very light and has a ton a power on tap at any time. No worries about going into limp mode like with the power added vehicles. Vipers are meant to be visceral and scary; that why you drive them. Of course, if you buy one, you should get some professional coaching to enjoy at the max. It’s the most important mod; the driver mod.

I had a 94 R/T and a 99 GTS. The Roadster was a beast to drive, but i loved it. The GTS was a smooth driver, but better top end. I loved both but my wife was afraid to ride in the Roadster because of the roar of the engine with Borlas. Sadly i sold both to a young man who killed himself and his friend in the Roadster. @Dreson458 ай бұрын
You could daily drive it, but it’s a very raw experience. He is correct in that the clutch is stiff and the gear changes take getting used to. If you drove it for a week, you would adapt. You definitely have to respect the torque and know what you’re doing if you push it. So many people wrecked them drag racing on the street and through twisties, simply because they weren’t experienced enough. It’s basically a street-legal race car. There’s limited electronic safety nets (none in earlier years), so it’s all on the driver to maintain control. The foot box is very tight too.
