I live in the Czech Republic - Europe, and my dad bought one 3rd gen back in 2006 i believe. I was only 6 years old at the time. Growing up looking at the beautiful silver beast, realizing I haven't seen one alike in the Czech Republic ever. The car was not used for about 4 years, because my dad is getting old and doesn't really have the energy to look after it anymore. Can't wait until we do the technical check on it and until I take it out for the first, very careful spin around the town. I've grown up in respecting this specific car, so when I see Audi drivers just flatting their gas pedal like it's nothing, I always think realize that this type of a driver will never be me, becuause if I crash this piece of art, it's gone forever. Loved the video, thank you for the future problems to look for. I think we have the door issue problem, because they are starting to lightly squeek while opening. Drive safe!

Very cool! Got a factory tour once. About 5 years ago. I took the GTS for the (9 hour) drive to get there. Felt a pretty powerful sense of community in that assembly facility and met some fantastic people who were very excited to share their job with me.

After decades, I still have my old 1996 B&W UGR TT GTS. Obviously far from stock, and I admittedly don't drive it much any more, but it's been incredibly reliable (and still no door hinge issues). Since it's getting more collectable, parts are getting rarer, and it's admittable a handful to drive (mostly due to having over 3x the power it did from the factory), it sits in the garage more than some people would like, but it still gets my blood flowing every time I open the garage door! The 2nd and 5th gen lines are absolutely beautiful, timeless, and will always be sought after IMO. I bought a "poor-mans Viper", a C6Z Corvette, years ago and still use it as a DD if weather permits. I would highly recommend the C6Z to anyone looking for a more affordable Viper substitute that can be driven daily without worrying about it as much. The C6Z has beautiful lines (it was made to look more like the gen 2 GTS), is very reliable, more fuel efficient, and is little more civilized, yet it still has that raw analog feel, much like the Viper. Not to mention, it's a hell of a performer and value too! Even though these cars were produced in higher volumes (great for getting parts and aftermarket support), they are starting to become a little more collectable as well. It's car you can enjoy daily, but it will likely never really depreciate over the years as you enjoy it.

BTW, I kick myself in the azz for not pulling the trigger on a 2017 Viper ARC that was offered for sale for $117k back in late 2019. I was so close to buying it, and I knew it would be collectable, but I decided against it since I didn't drive my other GTS's all that much and thoroughly enjoyed the C6Z as my DD. Regret is a b!tch, even though it would've likely sat in the garage also, but what a mistake not buying that car!

Thank you. I getting super close to finally buying my first Viper. I would say possibly this Spring. Oh and that exact 2008 is in my profile picture. LOL
Fantastic looking machines. Certainly much more rare than the equivalent year corvette. Have you found parts difficult to get? Off to AutoTrader!!

Parts on my original GTS we're starting to get a bit hard to find at least affordably when I sold it about 5 years ago. Thankfully I haven't needed any parts for the new one just yet. Does make me a bit nervous but so far so good!

The squeak on the gen3/4 door is the arm that goes into the door, its tricky to lubricate it, a bent straw on some spray lube is your best bet.

I bought a 2002 GTS With 3000 miles on it in 2005. Stock , non modified! Owned it 10 years and it was OK. I also bought a 1994 RT/10 in 2000. Stock non modified with 10,000 miles on it. Kept it for 15 years. They were good cars but getting old back then. Can't go back in life. Too many good cars on the market now! I am just not an old car guy... I like new and fresh!

You should be in jail for that cringe license plate. Especially because you seem to like the black with silver racing stripes that extend all the way down the grille and bumper, which is without a doubt the best color combo/pattern ever offered on the Viper (the grey with silver racing stripes being the 2nd best). How can you have such good taste but also make a license plate so reddit-tier?
@JustinPritchard Жыл бұрын
Everyone loves my plate tho. People literally tell me that in traffic every time I drive it. What's the plate on your Viper say?
