Helpful! My grandmother's bio mother changed her name and went to another state to give birth. She took her own grandmother's married name and made up a dead husband. She had no connection to the city she moved to and returned home 1 year after her child's adoption took place. Reading the bio mother's hometown paper, week by week, for 1890 is the only way I was able to figure out which daughter of the DNA indicated couple was the correct one - she was reported missing by her parents and returned home 4 years later. She was the only missing family member at the time of my grandmother's birth. Upon her return, she admitted to having been in the state where my grandmother was born working as a dressmaker, which matched her listed occupation in the city directory of the city where she gave birth.
