🇨🇭 The Geneva Mosque Masjid, Mosquée de Genève. Petit Saconnex Mosque, Geneva, Switzerland 🇨🇭 (2023)

This is the largest mosque in Switzerland, constructed in 1978 in the neighbourhood of Le Petit-Saconnex. The building has space for 1500 worshippers. There is a conference room, a library and a school inside the Masjid. It also has a dedicated modern mortuary with spaces and complete washing and shrouding facilities.
There are over 250 mosques and prayer rooms in Switzerland and this is one of the few purpose built Masjids in the country.
Around 400,000 Muslims lives in Switzerland. Most of them are from former Yugoslavia, mostly Bosnians, who migrated during the Balkan war in 90’s.
I went there for the Du'hr prayer and very much impressed with interior design. The tiles on the wall reminded me about the Al-Hambra Palace in Granada.
