What was the moisture content of the wood before starting? Do you have a picture of it two months after build?

I was just going to say the same thing, kind of. Its green wood. First of all, the moisture content of green maple is 97% or around there. I own a lumber business. You can't dry green wood in the log. I've tried many times. Also, given the nature of how hard it is to dry cookies without cracking, there will at least be splitting in all those cookies. I'm really interested in this because it would be alot more overhead for me if I could make tables out of green wood. I'm just worried about longevity of the tables. I too would like to know what this table looks like in 6 months. But, judging by the thank you response of the owner, he can't read English.

The design is really beautiful! Structurally, there will be some serious concerns raised by the table being built from green wood and the "bow-ties" in the center being made of end-grain. All together, it's likely to see some warping and cracking over the next year or two.

lower the guide wheels on your bandsaw nearer to the surface of the work peice for a smoother safer cut. beautiful table

Fantastic design. However, there is a major flaw, What will happen when that wood starts to dry? I foresee splits, cracks and warping in the table's future.

It's a very beautiful table, congatulation! I was a little sad, that you cut the End straight. I would like at the End if you leave the complete round of the first tree disk. A straight cut end of this unusual pretty looking table is in my matter of taste a little boaring. But round in round a very very good work👍👍👍

i'd always have a fear that the rounds would split. So i've never made an end log table. what's the "trick" dry? i get that .type of wood? a ton of lacquer?

The top is really cool looking. But there is a reason woodworkers remove the bark and whoever gets this table will see that reason when the legs shed the bark
