Our Discord - discord.gg/xThWx8Q My tentative theory is that based on the comment sections of our videos, lot's of the people here would benefit from the ability to chat to each other in real-time. I've met people who have had/still have a huge impact on me and who I have developed close and collaborative relationships with online first, that I've also gone on to meet in person. We live in interesting times where that is no longer a strange thing. Hopefully this discord will be somewhere where all of you can do the same - interesting chats, find new and useful connections etc. Also my assumption is that this community will grow organically and become self sustaining if it's going to exist at all. So think of me as an intermittently present creator who often totally forgets about a planet he's made then quickly rushes to make sure they haven't turned on each other. Finally, an ENTP is running the server... god help us. ~ Nathan

The word we know as "problem" incl how they work, manifest, appears etc. Could be an impossibility at play haunting us until we figure out why and how to solve it. So the solution made the impossible thing possible often for the first time ever. Because problems are usually not identical otherwise it wouldn't be a problem/impossible right? So how can we be sure that impossibilities exist just because we haven't invented the solution yet? And also if a unfixable impossibillity does exist no matter if we wait a million years for the discovery of the solutions - How does anyone prove that a impossible unfixable problem is so impossible that a solution cant be created ever? No matter how high our wisdom is over time. Can that be proven and be true at the same time, when the reality is.... We dont know yet? Even if we DO prove it, how do we know ahead of time that we are not missing something we dont know yet that would change that outcome? This a common problem in cases with facts vs believes. What is truely a real fact? vs what is truely a believed fact? (Which is NOT the real factual truth, even if it is religiosly being believed as the real truth). Can you/we really spot the difference? Careful!!! It's a limbo type rabithole deep to dive in.

Most logical fallacies are attached to psychological defense mechanisms, or, when people feel threatened they get stupid. "Everyone's cool until the blame gets put on them." I'm working on a theory about the Autonomic Nervous System, Stress, and childhood relationship dynamics, and how unresolved emotional issurs here cause irrational behavior. I think everyone is capable of amazing feats of reason, but that reason is hardest to apply to the pain we're trying to avoid/drown.
@condotiero860
@condotiero860 4 жыл бұрын
@@thesurvivorssanctuary6561 Interesting, i just chalked that up to people being people. People being irrational by nature, reason being the anomaly. My premise being that reason is an emergent virtue, it is learned. With the clear distinction that the ability to think does not make one reasonable. If nature is your reason, is that unreasonable? I honestly do not know.
@thesurvivorssanctuary6561
@thesurvivorssanctuary6561 4 жыл бұрын
@@condotiero860 The thing is, nature is actually quite logical. I think the majority of unconscious decisions are made through a process called Heuristic Analysis. It's a sort of internal weighing of things, and it's how animals think. The funny thing is, it's remarkably similar to logistic analysis in it's approach and execution. The logical aspect of Heuristic Analysis comes from the manner in which our brains function. It's like an internet search engine scanning all your memories, then it provides a sort of statistical analysis of the pertinance of each result, and finally our brains contrast and compare the data to weigh the most important issues in the decision. The major failing of heuristic analysis is our limited perspective. We tend to gravitate towards successful patterns of the past, and we ignore abberant data. This means that one of the biggest problems with Heuristic Analysis is Confirmation Bias. Still, it's an incredibly logical tool, and this abstract pattern of unconscious thought probably paved the way for our ability to count. In fact, Emotions are astoundingly reasonable as well. Every last one is a complex device that feeds you relationship data on your social environment. Each has a very specific logical pattern it is trying to accomplish. Sadness is explaining that a significant resource was lost, Happiness tells us that our needs are being fulfilled, Anger is a judicial case against whomever wronged us, and Surprise is a software update. Emotions are a fascinating example of how group-think makes people function as a sort of collective brain. Half our existence is located in other people, as our friends and family mirror our ideas, emotional states, and behaviors. Emotions are simply the device that binds us to other people, and interestingly enough, Emotions denote the overall value of memories when they are stored away. This all has deep logical applications, and while it doesn't match the singular precision of science or philosophy, these unconscious processes handle the lion's share of data that our brains process. This is all just our "stupid" animal brains. I haven't even gotten into how identity and ideology function through intrinsic higher reasoning processes. Like, the way we organize the world into stories to make meaning is the premises we base our logical thought off. The highest form of logic is just counting and math, and that is indivisible from linguistic representations. We always have to be counting something after all, and numbers themselves are part of our language. The real cause of irrationality, theoretically, is how we close our minds to new ideas because of the need to protect ourselves. Whether that is protecting our physical selves, our emotional selves, or our ideas of ourselves, irrational behavior is about minimizing harm to the self. See, irrational behavior wouldn't be a problem if it could be changed easily, but it usually cannot. The reason irrational behavior(which stems from irrational beliefs) refuses to change, is because of emotional trauma, or pain, that hasn't been properly processed. Now, that trauma resides in the realm of ideas and memories, and it causes it's possessor to act crazy when the mind's focus is on something closely associated with that idea or memory. We're highly compartmentalized beings, and our memories store emotional data. Once we access our long term memories(which includes our inner library of words and images), we breathe life back into those old emotions, and we are then immediately influenced by those old ghosts. This is my working theory at least, 😋. I'm still updating it all, and refining everything as much as I can. It's important to me to be as accurate as possible, because I find this useful information, 🤔😁👌

INTP life hack learned from being autistic: learn the system of people/emotions by learning a crap ton of psychology to compensate for inferior Fe. Fun fact it will take a couple years of exhausting brain reorganization, but it will be effective. Think of it as the reorganization of internal syntax that comes from learning a new language.

I think instead of getting rid of your laziness and finding your passion, it's the other way around: when you find your passion, your laziness will go away. You need something in your life that gives you purpose, motivation, joy and fulfillment. You seem not to have that, or an idea of what to do with your life in a career field, so perhaps when you do find that interest your world will open up and you fill finally find yourself engaged by a subject that doesn't bore you. As for how you find that passion, I really can't tell you. But search yourself and try to think of things you enjoy, and pursue those interests with the intent of finding purpose. You mentioned physics, so why not do some reading on the subject or watch science minded videos that go into the physics of the modern world and see if they strike your interest in the field itself?

So I am an INTP, and my older sister is an INFP. Now to be honest, even though she is older by like 5 years, I am always the one looking down on her. So she actually was the person who told me to take the MBTI test after she had done the same. And I did. And it was fun. But after understanding myself and my sister more I began to look down upon her for being an INFP, because I had this weird belief that INTPs were better. Lets just say, she made some really dumb decisions with her love life and every time something bad happened she would come to me and tell me all about it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm happy to support her when she needs it, but I was starting to get really mad at her. She would come to me almost every other day and every time I would give her advice, she would listen, understand, and then do the exact opposite later. It made me so mad, especially when everyone she knows would be telling her not to do something and then she does it and has to pay the price. The other day she came to me telling me that her and her boy weren't together anymore because of miscommunication or something and I was so mad and so tempted to say 'I told you so.' But I didn't. I just sat there listening with a frown on my face until it was over. Also there was this one time she heard me complaining about her to my parents and I accidentally snapped and started expressing how stupid I thought she was. I realised what I did was wrong and apologised to her, after a long talk though. During that long talk, I told her how seeing her suffering was having an effect on me, and that I was annoyed because I couldn't do anything. She apologised and the I apologised and then the apologies kept going back and forth until we started laughing. But yeah, back to the point, why is there this stupid belief that INFPs are less intelligent. I think my sister is very intelligent, and it's just harder for her to understand her situation when emotions are involved. Well sorry that this was long, have a nice day.
@DreamQuillRose
@DreamQuillRose 4 жыл бұрын
I think you did exactly the right thing. When talking to a Feeler, you have to express how their actions affect your FEELINGS. That's one way to get them to make wiser decisions, because they won't want to do things that hurt you. But you have to express your feelings, which is hard for an INTP to do, so kudos to you for that. It's also a good idea to tell your sister plainly that you think she's intelligent, because Feelers have a tendency to think they aren't, and if they aren't intelligent, why even try to make intelligent choices? Support her, tell her you know she has common sense and can make wise choices, especially now that she has some experience with boys. Also, make her feel that you value her by asking questions / advice about things that she has experience in, such as relationships. The idea is to both make you closer as sisters and to increase her self-esteem and self-confidence, since a lot of times people make stupid choices because they feel insecure.

I haven't realized before that im like this, doing research about everything and everyday. I have always seen myself as a "kind of weird" or like a unique person but after watching all these videos and reading about INTP's i feel like im not unique at all or something like that, at first it was kinda of scary, but now im cool with it and its cool how easy it is to learn about yourself now. Quite accurate. Everything I've been successful at or at least enjoyed doing has had a robust system to learn, which is then the basis of something flowingly creative once second nature. Hmmm, perhaps this is why I love bead weaving so much. It’s more about the pattern and rhythm and “buildability” of it all than just a creative expression for the sake of expression. Plus, it is an excellent method of executing “flow” (as it is known in CBT circles).

As an INTP I guess I would class myself as more intelligent than ignorant, but it's always a constant battle. There's few subjects I'd truly command the room on or really go all in on if there was a debate, as in most cases I don't have many hills I'd die on argument wise and there's always so much more to learn and so much knowledge that can either completely change or be looked at from a different angle. I guess it's a war against absolutes, to avoid marrying yourself to ideas and instead marrying yourself to what feels truthful and logical, so that even if the ideas change or warp slightly, the original merits behind them (what's true, what can be proven) is still prioritized when they have to be reconsidered. I guess it's another kind of intelligence to avoid identifying yourself as smart, and simply underscoring that for all you know (and there's so much we can know given our span of interests and how obsessively we dive into things we love), there's so much that's still a mystery. Which is why, for whatever knowledge I carry about a subject, the second I realize someone knows something I don't I feel deflated and upset that I didn't know it already. Life is like a vast library, too much to experience and not a hundredth of the time needed to feel it all.

I recently did a personality test which was based on the MBTI/16 personalities concept, although built on it somewhat (it was called insights), where it described me as someone very much shunning the limelight and letting others take the glory - even doing myself a dis-service o an extent in the process. Whenever I've done the 16 personalities test itself I'm usually an INTP, so the suggestion here of using intellect for others to act upon feels very true.

heres the thing, i like to form systems of conversation that either provoke a certain reaction to learn, people say I'm argumentative but its because I want to see how flexible they are, if they end up getting angry as I contradict them instead of actually thinking I can tell the conversation isn't worth having and change the subject, for example, by brother is also intp and we have different opinions but we both use this tactic on each other to creat what I call, a conversation loop. where eventually the conversations stops progressing and it is clear everyone is firmly rooted in their ideas. here the conversation must be interrupted or one of us needs to get bored, I once talked to him for 4 hours straight playing devils advocate to an idea he had and we spent all 4 hours going back and forth about he stated and idea, I would comment flaws, he would alter the idea until it would function logically, then we would move on until both of us had a nearly fully constructed model of the subject of our conversation.

I worried that my INTP son had a serious disability when he was a baby, he didn’t speak until he knew the words, he didn’t emote much, didn’t cry when he needed things. When he started talking he could say most of the words already, as though he had practiced in secret. He doesn’t talk much, he could be sitting there observing everyone and drifting off into his thoughts, but right when you’ve forgotten he’s there he interjects something really profound or witty… or downright hilarious. As a toddler he collected flies and put them in his pockets. They kept flying out so he carefully removed their wings and put them in his pocket, when questioned about hurting the flies he’d respond “they aren’t flies anymore, they’re “walks” now. When the “walks” were walking out of his pockets he’d remove their legs and call them “rolls”… because if they wanted to move they’d have to roll places I guess. A typical example of a normal conversation with him would go like this…. me, fascinated by something new: well! you learn something new every day” him: “what did you learn yesterday?” Me: “ummm…” him: “see you don’t learn something new every day.” Always matter-of-factly stated in somewhat of a monotone. Love it! INTP are fascinating!

He loves animals, and is very gentle and caring toward them, he especially loves dogs, cats and goats. So we have 2 dogs and 2 cats, one goat and about to get him a miniature goat too. He’s impressive because being able to articulate so well what Intps are feeling tbh it’s a good chance that it’s some intps first time having a really consistently wise teacher he’s like the crab that made it out the bucket and lets us know that what we seek is possible the ballence and the logic is there idk he’s just goated sorry for the wank

What other INTP have seen the actor's playing other celebrities. Example Will Smith also plays T.C. Carson, Duncan P. Russel and Tyler Perry. They wear Hollywood facial prosthetics. You all should really look into it.
