Seal the blocks with a plant safe product.
@cLyon-xi9os2 жыл бұрын
@@singingwindrider9881 There several out there. Check Chalk paint dealers like DIY or milk paint dealers. I painted and sealed the outside of my concrete planters with paint and sealer but I still have to check them often to prevent drying out of soil. I have three on my porch and it has been trial and error with different plants. I live in a very hot part of the South and concrete heats up very fast here. Also there is a decoupage liquid that is food safe - that might work inside the blocks. I don’t know.
@AnoraJohnson2 жыл бұрын
Good tip. Concrete does work with some watering methods though. The dry-soak method of letting soil dry well before soaking thoroughly works well with porous pots. It's important to monitor closely if using the method in outdoor heat...but a lot of plants thrive this way. I have huge geraniums and begonias that bloom year-round this way.
