The best bit is that Enrique described our style of play as "Classic English, long balls"... Not exactly Luis. You know what, one of the best things to come from Wednesday (apart from other teams now being more worried about St. James') is our biggest problem recently has been not playing our proper game against top teams- City 2nd half in the cup and PSG have shown every player what can happen when you're brave, chuck away that trepidation and fear and go at people! Amazing things can happen.

@gonufc Жыл бұрын
@@unholyxeras8182 It absolutely was arrogance. To think he could stick 2 in midfield (one of which being a 17 year old!) against our midfield which our midfield which is practically designed to win the ball back quickly and effectively. I think it's a problem that all PSG managers get into at some point: they think that all these superstars will just automatically blow the opposition away. The fact it probably works a lot of the time in Ligue 1 doesn't help.

Maybe also helps show how Eddie Howe brought Bournemouth from the bottom of the fourth tier to the Premier League and some of the layers came all the way up with him. He really gets the most out of the talent available! The only thing he had to add was to ensure his teams defend well, which often wasn't true of Bournemouth at the top level.

A massive part of what makes the team so pasionate is that a lot of the Newcastle players actually support Newcastle and I think newcastle have the best proportion of players who are fans in the premier leage. Not only playing for the club means the world to Longstaff and Burn but the passion spreads to the other players which is why they all want it so much. Newcastle is the greatest club in the world for a reason, they play with pride!

This. Even Callum recently said he enjoys being in the toon and a 1 year contract extension was a no brainer for him. Ritchie who is reportedly homesick is still being convinced to stay in the toon. The players know the fans will back them and they in turn work hard for the fans.
@andyhills9972 Жыл бұрын
What Howe has done particularly well is create an identity and style that matches that of the Newcastle fan. Newcastle fans are passionate, loud, intense, and historically have built their lives around working hard during the week, usually for little money, and then watching their team at the weekend. Newcastle play like their fans live. It creates this synergy which makes Newcastle play with more intensity then they could do without their fans, and it galvanises their fans to cheer them on as a result. It’s important as fans that we don’t question too much the willingness of the team otherwise that relationship might break down and everyone suffers.

Great analysis. The best part of watching this Newcastle team is not being afraid that we would just miraculously nick a goal and ride our luck for 90 min and defend for our lives. The viewing experience is now filled with anticipation, buzz and how many goals would be scored, if we will get to sing Callum Wilson's song or Miggy's and so on... and knowing Pope and the defence will keep us in a game no matter what and Eddie would prepare the team properly unlike a certain person who shall remain unnamed.

So, the holy grail of sports science is to get that 5-10% of energy that the body holds back for an emergency - a life / death type thing - and and allow your elite athletes to access it! If you think that not getting back to make that tackle for the club you supported as a boy, that your whole family fanatically follow and that is impregnated into your very being is a life / death thing then you get to that emergency boost. They have always been amongst the quickest players in the squad. I think you may find Schar and Tripps are the slower of the back line. Both of whom read the game well and play thinking football. Sven I think I read somewhere that he has a good top end but acceleration is not his strong point, which he makes up for with good positioning. Same with Big Dan, yes a winger may well get the first stride on him but very few actually run away from him. The NUFC back line is far from slow.

You are slower, more lethargic, think slower make bad decisions . Half a yard behind everyone else. Man utd players are not fit. Too busy playing Fifa and staying up all night and have to walk around the pitch to recover. The game has changed and skillful decent players need to be 100% fit to play these systems to perform. I don't like chelsea. I don't like city. But newcastle getting oil money AFTER having ashley in charge AND having an awesome fanbase PRIOR to the takeover, happy for yas. Hope they stick with howe and the toon army don't get spoilt (expecting to win every game and moaning when they don't). The toon army is ling overdue some success on the pitch and howe has earned his place at a club that can challenge.

No pace without Botman? You mean you missed when Dembele left Burn for dead (late in the game) yet Lascelles raced back and put him off before he could take a proper shot? 😉 (Edit: you cover this towards the end of the video) 🙂

He never used to be. I think Howe has all players looking fitter than they've ever been.
