Splitting the bill narrative was interesting .. I agree with Shibani about it’s a sign of manners and chivalry… Women may be capable of paying the bill … however 1) if the guy has asked for a date then definitely he should pay for her time & effort. See for a guy he gets dressed nice and comes for date, for a girl she thinks about her outfit, maybe gets facial, Lashes, waxing etc it’s a whole process, commuting to the date and back also might be hard also for girl alone etc boys get freedom to roam around girl may not… 2) At the start of dating, it’s an investment of the guy investing in the girl.. it sends a HUGE signal to the girl that he is serious about her… I.e he isn’t going around paying for lots of girls dinners therefore focuses his mind to give it a real shot… If you’re casually dating & both split each time then you’re just going for dinner you can right swipe every day of the week meet new people and never get serious as there is too many options and “no skin in the game..” 3) as time goes on and the relationship turns serious and cements then yes the girl should split or offer to pay alternative times… 4). As a disclaimer I would also add in that if on the first date the girl is not interested at all and knows for a fact she will never see him again then yes she should offer to split.. so no hard feelings .. But, if you’re seeing where it goes then you know he has paid first time so you’ve also got it in your conscious to give it a real chance before dismissing /ghosting…. I think the old school way of a man paying for dates in the initial stages, worked in making the whole dating process more serious and less casual …. Especially in a time where there are too many options at your fingertips :)

Amazing conversation unless we term chivalry “not sexist”. Of course it is sexist. The most sexist thing, and a pressure on the men coming out of patriarchy. Feminism in such senses always seems women oriented if we talk about things like this. Which it shouldn’t. Patriarchy is what we are fighting. Not each other. And chivalry is a part of patriarchy. Usually guys get friend zoned but here is a classic case of a women being friend zoned by a guy 😅 Shibani is officially in Ankush's friend zone (solely based on the "tip of iceberg" we get see of them online) In almost all their unscripted videos, every joke of Shibani about them being a couple or her humorous attempt to "woo" him is shot down by Ankush in bullet train speed.
