There are plenty of examples (Easter Island comes to mine) where the local population got to be too many for the local environment to support. Look at it this way....if you wanted to double the world's resources per human, while cutting our trash and pollution output in half, you could do that by simply eliminating 1/2 of the world's population. Ok, clearly we cannot simply go out and commit mass genocide. BUT, we could start cutting back on how many children we bring into the world. Perhaps we don't need families with 8 to 10 children (in the 19th Century, many families would have that many children because some of them were most likely to die in early childhood. that was very common back then). We have better medicine, etc, so that isn't as necessary. The Human race can most certainly stand to have a negative population growth for a while, and that is really what this monument is talking about, not killing a whole bunch of people.

Personally, I strongly suspect a few town elders got together to cook up a "mysterious monument" as a tourist attraction, Which it has turned out to be quite useful in that regard. It looks like they cleaned those up, I read a few years back that they had been spray-painted and damaged. I had read the full history on those stones and it's really odd, like RC Christian walking in the stonemason's office to make the final payment for the stones' construction, saying goodbye, leaving...and they never see him again. I also read that there was a plan to include a Time Capsule with the stones but it was never installed.

You're wrong right off the bat. The granite mason, Findley, was not who dealt with RC Christian. It was the local bank president who dealt with RC. That was Chinese, not Japanese. The other languages were Hindu, Arabic, Latin, Swahili, Greek and a Slavic language. Also, you mentioned a unified language was a sign of the apocalypse - not correct...it is a sign of Armageddon. @@Bix12 I was more interested in just seeing the so called "guide" stones, to see their reality for myself, than learning in depth, completely accurate information regarding them, as from a professional. I did some more research though, and it appears there are different perspectives and some contradictory "facts" out there concerning them. Maybe he read something different than you and took it for the facts. Nothing he said drastically changes the basic thoughts behind what happened. It doesn't seem anyone can say for sure that they know the facts surrounding them, unless they are the person who had them erected, or they are witness to what occurred, or know someone who was a witness to what occured, who is extremely reliable, or someone who knows or knew the person/people who were directly responsible for making, placing and maintaining them and convincingly told them what occurred. I think he is an ordinary guy who was nice enough to go there and video record them so that those of us who only have heard of them could see them for them ourselves. I am happy that he did, as it was interesting to see them. I didn't consider him a scholar, but someone who told about them from what he thought he knew. He wasn't too far off. Maybe next time he will do a more in depth and accurate study of the subject he is presenting. Maybe someone could do a more thorough investigation and uncover more facts concerning them. It could be a fun, interesting and telling endeavor. They might want to watch their back, though, for we don't know what dark and nasty abyss this trail could possibly lead down into. ---------- Here is an example of something he may have read that was different than the knowledge you claim: IN JUNE OF 1979, A man going by the pseudonym of R.C. I prefer endorsing the pursuit of accuracy & excellence, and feel this is a much better route toward improving ourselves as human beings rather than just accepting mediocrity and being okay with a substandard product.....but, as I implied earlier, to each their own. I know if I was making a video with a potential of being seen by a very large number of people (or even just a few), I'd want to make damn sure that the information in it was correct rather than just shrugging my shoulders and saying "Who knows?...I guess it's good enough" (figuratively-speaking) ....but that's me, and the way I've always done things.
