I love Tonopah, I have stayed next to the "murder scene" at The Mizpah and visited the Clown Motel and next door cemetery at night and they are fascinating. Also, really creepy. The Mizpah is like stepping back in time. A MUST-SEE for any adventurer.

I took a solo road trip through Nevada in late 2009. Had a great time. Mizpah had not yet begun its restoration/resurrection. I'm not scared of clowns, I just think they are tacky and ugly so I stayed at the Best Western. All in all I loved the quirky charm of the place.

The Clown Motel is less than 40 years old. Why it has become known as being haunted is beyond me. I stayed the night there by myself on Christmas night, 2017. It cost me $35 and it was a clean and quiet night. Now .... that old pioneer cemetery right next door to the Clown Motel was not only fascinating but kinda creepy; especially at night. While I was gingerly walking through that cemetery alone, there were these lights that would appear and disappear the entire time i was walking in there. The lights were equitable to the light from a firefly and those bugs do not exist in Nevada. If you go to Tonopah, please respect the land.
