Recovering from my first injury during my brief running career, and I’ve learned to not take for granted the ability to actually be able to run! It’s a wonderful gift.

Seth. So happy to see you posting videos again. Hope you and family are well. My Daughter and I got to meet you on street in Boston. I have been struggling with knee issues for over a year. Finally have that issue solved. Running again pain free and running for fun and enjoying life etc again. Keep posting and doing what you do. It matters.

I’m 64 years young. Listening and respecting my body /muscles when they bark is key. Work hard but rest well and don’t forget the gift of relaxing…. Good for mind, body and soul .

it takes forever to recover At 40 I could run 6 days a week and spin cycle the 7 th. Plus double with intervals. No problem! At 50 I ran 5 days a week, at 55 4 days. Now at 60 I run 2-3 a week with a few spin classes. It just takes forever to recover as you get older and if you push it your in the injury list. Coming back from injury takes forever too! Oh well just grateful to move and have a good ❤️

yep gotta play it smart; take extra time to recover as we get older. Seth you give me panic in these videos crossing city streets- even tho i know you make it- or there would be no video :) stay safe. Love your positivity.

The gift of running! As someone who has torn their ACL in both knees, (thank you soccer,) I 100% thought my athletic career would be over. Now nearly 8 years since my last knee surgery, and I am quickly approaching 1500 total miles ran in 2023, equalling my total miles from 2022. My goal for 2024 is to hit 2000 total miles run. Running -- the gift that keeps on giving!

3 Miles , 5K at 11. Truly is a gift. That's a pleasure cruise. Sometimes, we forget how Running doesn't really have to be 'intent' in meeting TIMES and PRs.

I love your vlogs seth! You're a great father, great runner, and to me not just a coach for running, but a coach for life. As a dad of three children (the fourth one's on the way) i have to push hard sometimes. Getting all those things in order and done. But i believe that if you can stay positive, and getting stronger, there are lots of golden nuggets just waiting for all of us at some parts of the course every now and then. So, thanks for carrying the same spirit as i do and sharing that with us! Stay well, have fun and all the best for all of you! DGR strong!

I turned 50 this past summer and I’m finding it important to maintain my lean muscle mass and being intentional to strength train. It’s not impossible to hit some of the times I ran in my early 40s but it does require a little more effort to get those times

I have found that if you take care of strength training, core, nutrition & hydration on a daily basis inside or outside of your training block your recovery is much improved. Youth can hide a lot BUT age brings wisdom so just keep doing what we all love.

Turned 40 this year and in the past 5 years what I have learned is that they need to put an extra day into the weekends so my legs can recover after race day and returning to work.😂

Roger That Bro 🤣 The next 3 to 4 days are really intense at work 😂 I discovered it myself too 🫶🏻 After Münster my legs felt sore even 4 days after the event. It was unreal 😄 Because of that reason I lay my vacation time from work right around my peak races so I don‘t have to work with the soreness of my life 🤣💪

QOD: in the past 5 years which is the amount of time that I have been back to running/racing, I’ve learned that with age comes the heightened importance of strength training, mobility and core conditioning. I tend to focus on these three for the first week or two post race and have noticed I recover faster and the DOMS are significantly reduced.

Just turned 43 and literally tied my 5k PR from 5 hrs ago. I can still handle as much if not more volume but need to be really careful with intensity. I don’t find myself getting injured too much but if I do too much hard running it limits my ability to go real hard when I need to

I don’t race much but as I get older (turning 50 in a few months), I notice that I stay sore longer. I really need to incorporate a total rest day in my week.

5 years ago was highschool running and recovering from 5K is a lot different from when I completed my first marathon this past May. Just keeping care of my body is a lot more time. How were the Super Comps? I had the 1s and heard the 2s have less stack height.
