The display looks unreal 😮
@albertotrigosbueno55478 күн бұрын
the rog one is more unreal, 240hz and it's the best ips i've seen. also there is a rog with oled "cheaper" than most other oled gaming laptop. This gigabyte is a tier below i had to buy it cause the method of payment didn't give me choice to spend more than 1500 euros

Really helpful review, thanks! Any insights on how it compares to the MSI Alpha 17 with similar specs (aside from screen size, obviously)? There doesn't seem to be an awful lot of information available on the Alpha, but on paper it sounds impressive and seems to be strong competition for the Aorus 16X.

Hey, glad you liked it. I haven't checked out the MSI unfortunately. Maybe I could ask MSI really nicely for a sample 😅

i got the i7 4070 today after getting sick of cpu bottleneck on my current one (i5 12450h) if u see it don't buy it even if reddit says it's ok, warzone or any big multiplayer games won't get you more than 90-100fps and even on fifa you are on cpu bottleneck and you are forced to do 60hz which is bad

@@albertotrigosbueno5547 laptops in general are not the best for gaming, for that you buy a proper PC, or get a really expensive one, which is very hard since you need big money to have something better than this

I honestly hope to get an answer, have to travel abroad and be there for around half a year, I found one for sale for around 2000 Euros, has 32 Gigs RAM, 2TB storage and a RTX 4070 8 GB DLSS 3 and the i9-14900HX as a CPU. I have this and probably the ROG Strix g16 (2024 model) with the same specs more or less to choose from. I do digital illustration, gaming (Not looking for future proofing onwards, and running those at ultra settings) and light streaming (Older tiles or just drawing). Given my needs, is this better than the g16? Some titles taht I regularly play are WoW, MGS V, Hogwarts Legacy, V Rising, Dishonored 2 and some Minecraft.

Is the price the same and specs same on both Asus and Gigabyte models?
@iliesioanalexandru85433 күн бұрын
@@TechHunterOfficial 300 Euros difference I think, with the G16 being the more expensive one. I guess the question is, is it worth the extra 300. Alsosince both have the i9 14th gen, is that known to cause isues on mobile too?
@TechHunterOfficial3 күн бұрын
The mobile 14th and 13th gen chips haven't had any issues that i'm aware of. I probably wouldn't pay £300 more for the ASUS when it offers exactly the same specs. Especially if you only want something that will last you for 18months whilst you're abroad.
@iliesioanalexandru85432 күн бұрын
@@TechHunterOfficial Understood. Thank you so much for the reply. I will be abroad 6 months, but my own desktop is a older build with 16 GB RAM and a msi 1080 ti, I think. So it would be a tad above my own machine? Either way, much appreciated once again :D

Just got same spec as in the video from currys in UK , they have dropped the price to £1250 , i7 14 gen , 16GB , 4070 . As per video recommendation , will need another 16GB stick. They also have same spec with 13gen i7 for £1100. Seems like pretty good deal and defo an upgrade to my 2016 MSI ghost pro Rtx 970 😂

better than constant stutter like the rog g16 i tried last year with i9 13th gen hx

Yeah it's absolutely fine if you're gaming probably. But looking for a nice quiet powerful laptop for music production is difficult. Currently I run a decent desktop 12700k and I don't even need the case fans running. Just the be quiet dark rock on the CPU is enough. Dead silent

I've got a dark rock 4 in my editing pc, works a treat and is absolutely silent!
@MichaelDowComposer9 күн бұрын
@@TechHunterOfficialyeah it's great isn't it. I considered the pro but the regular is plenty for my needs. I use throttle stop and often only need the 12700k set to 3.6ghz out of 5. Runs so cool under load and is plenty for most needs. If I need to I bump it to 4.2 or 5 at the press of a key for a few mins! Such a good program that!

Hello, I have this laptop and while testing it, I saw a problem with its battery. There were differences between the full charge capacity and the design capacity. And sometimes it does not exceed 81, sometimes 90 while charging.

I've heard many negative things about the software. Is it really that bad? People complaining that it makes the laptop perform worse by using a ton of CPU %, installs a ton of bloatware, and is really bad to use. In your experience, considering you've used it for a while, how was it?
@TechHunterOfficial12 күн бұрын
@@andreacosta2238 I don't hate it, it's no worse or better than asus armoury crate. It has some gimmicky AI features built in but nothing you can't ignore. You can also just disable it on startup if you want. It's a bit old looking and not that responsive but not a deal breaker.

Depends on how much moving around you do and how much gaming on the move you do. If you want freedom, then a laptop is great. But if you're gaming in 1 room all the time, a PC always makes more sense as you get more power and customisation with a PC

I think the 13th gen are just older stock. For the price difference between them, it's not a bad option to get the older version
@albertotrigosbueno55479 күн бұрын
@@TechHunterOfficial it's not older stock, it's a hidden model not displayed on gigabyte web, but if u look on drivers you'll see it, it's just less future proof, since it has 2 less cores, performace in games would be the same since most game use 6 cores. It says 2024 and have the 16:10 aspect ratio, if it was old stock wouldn't be 16x only 16, and the display would've been 16:9 instead of 16:10, it's the same laptop just with the cpu difference
