I get this is a show, but a real-life Lorelei would be a nightmare to have around. I had a boyfriend who thought was witty and funny so he did it all the time to the point you couldn't have a normal or serious conversation with him. I dropped him after 1 month like a hot potato. It's good to have a sense of humour but to use it excessively is kinda torturous for the other party. Lorelei is annoying even as a character.

I forgot Lorelei didn’t want their help from the moment she found out she was pregnant. She didn’t want them involved from the jump. You would’ve thought they kicked her out and left her destitute

well they had their differences and she was very young and felt pressured and stressed and unhapppy plus they wanted her to marry chris, which she really didn't want so she ran away and created a life for herself, it's not the best scenario but she wasn't really unfair to them it was a tough situation for everyone especially a young, unhappy girl

no i don’t think they’d neglect her, they want her in their lives desperately but they just suck at communication and also they’re mentally draining her so she needed to leave

I felt bad for the father and mother, they tried to raise two daughters and both failed them.

Considering how much Christopher’s parents belittled Lorelai time and time again and under Richard and Emily’s roof, I was honestly surprised that they even consorted with them at all afterwards. His parents wanted nothing to do with Rory despite her not asking to be born into this drama. Then, Christopher barely fought to be in his daughter’s life financially or otherwise. There is no way on earth that I would have been okay with Lorelai marrying him.

@ she was 16, making an impulsive decision. No emotional intelligence and she never saw/understood what her parents did for her. She grew up still needing her parents in some way. A grown up who makes immature decisions now, makes sense since she never had a parent growing up.

Agreed. Too selfish to let Rory have a relationship with her grandparents. But they were good enough to pay for Rory’s tuition. Horrible.

@@yamil.343 she grew up without any parenting. And she left @ 16 with no emotional intelligence. Regardless of their style of parenting your family only wants what’s best for you. Lorelai now is grown adult who makes immature decisions. Same like Rory now when she grew up
