Loving how you break down the chord tones and theory. Much better than just fingers and frets.

This is the most precise and easy to understand about playing "Girl from Ipanema" Bravo. You defined the co-relation between each melody behind each chord. Your intuition in music are instinct and inborn qualities. Not everyone can teach that way.

Hi Felipe! Just worked this out by ear a couple of weeks ago and thought I’d have a look on KZbin to see other versions for added info. Yours was the most informative by far. Thank you. I learned a lot from your explanation and performance. All the best from Bonnie Scotland!

How I wish I understood the fretboard and chord voicings like you do; great stuff. I had a teacher in grad school named Coelho. What are the 2 extra strings on your guitar? Are the 6 in the middle the same as a "regular" guitar?
@FelipeCoelhoGuitar2 жыл бұрын
Ha thats cool! Thanks for watching!
@MarcellinusVD3 ай бұрын
It's "only" one extra string, probably a low B.

why does his guitar have 7 strings?
@monklymusic6886 Жыл бұрын
It’s super common for Brazilian music, especially Choro, to use 7 strings guitar and not have a bass player. Lowest string covers that range.
@tangomechanic Жыл бұрын
When teaching chord voicings especially on an eight string guitar a diagram is called for. It would be helpful and that's the objective of this lesson, to be helpful. Otherwise great tutorial.

Well, the theory info is just a bonus. Being able to see where the fingers are and hear the notes should be enough

Waaaaaay too much chatter. Just shut and play with accompanying chord diagrams, for Christ's sake! Period. This is what guitar players express that want time and time again. Not looking for a degree in theory or chord chemistry.
