The husband in the story where his wife is worried if she should help him or escape really sounds like he’s going through a type of schizophrenia called paranoid schizophrenia. All of those symptoms really line up with this type of schizophrenia and usually it shows up in men 18-early 30s

You are definitely right about schizophrenia being over dramatized in movies/tv shows. There are definitely more severe types of schizophrenia where people can be violent, but often times people with paranoid schizophrenia start to have this distrust in others and think everyone is out to get them. :(

Just looked it up, apparently paranoid schizophrenia isn’t a subtype of schizophrenia anymore, but more recognized as a symptom that a lot of schizophrenics experience. I work in healthcare and most of the schizophrenia people I’ve taken care of are so sweet, just mostly scared

Girl, I brought home a foster kitten that had ringworm, and it gave it to literally ALL of my pets (one dog and two cats), me and my partner and like four or five of my friends. The cat was adopted by a friend of mine and it then gave the ringworm to him, one of his friends and his dog. Before it was all said and done that cat had given ringworm to, like, 14 different creatures. Unreal.

Not ring worm, i promise. I havent even seen it, but i swear im not crazy. im a cat behaviorist, and overgrooming is a sign of stress. You ARE doing the right thing though 100% because preventative care is best. Gabapentin prescribed by the vet may be a good idea, and feliway diffusers in your new place!

He hasn’t been over grooming is the thing!! That’s why I am so confused as to what it is. But I went to the vet today and he said it may be allergies. He gave him an antibiotic shot and cream to put on twice a day for a week then I’ll go back and have a follow up!! Thank you sm ❤️❤️❤️ that’s so cool you are a cat behaviorist!!!

@jamie.nelson98 I think I remember you saying he was rubbing it on a corner before? Cats are soooo sensitive and will develop an issue overnight from a random problematic behavior from stress. I really hope it's allergies, but you're a good cat mom. Once you move, you can breathe thus they can breathe. It's gonna be ok! 🩷 I'm mainly a canine esthitician, but I do work with cat behavior. *hugs*

when he was a kitten and we first Brough him home we had to separate him from our other kitty to introduce them and so we kept him in the bathroom and he scratched his head on the glass shower door :/ but not on purpose he just ran into it. it was the same exact spot and looked the exact same! so I didn't think anything of it I just thought maybe that happened again and thought it would maybe heal quickly. but no it got worse :( but im relieved we got him to the vet bc I feel much better about it now. hopefully the meds he gave me resolves it. I appreciate you smmmm

The story with the husband that is going through mental health issues reminds me of a family member that gets psychosis episodes. When this family member started going through this it was very similar to how the behaviour of the husbands in this story. And it was also triggered by drug use but he still has these issues even tho he is sober. That husband definitely needs help or else it can get dangerous for her and her kids.

Psychosis is similar to schizophrenia but it’s not constant. It’s episodes rather. Although I am not super informed so take that with a grain of salt.

That def could be a possibility!! I also think that bipolar disorder can trigger psychosis as well. But yeah unfortunately once the drug use triggers that I think they have to deal with that forever :(
