I once watched a Filipino drama where a little girl had a pet, a cute puppy tied to a rope, following around. In a later scene, it was dead on the ground, killed by someone to upset her. It was really dead, with frozen barred teeth, glazed dead eyes, flies buzzing around its face and blood around! It upset me so much, I couldn’t watch anymore. To think the life of this dog was so irrelevant, for the sake of filming! My Filipino friend told me many poor Filipinos eat dog meat, to stave off hunger. I don’t agree with this, but at least it wasn’t killed for a drama, which could have used props or a sleeping dog..
