Jess was right to give up on Rory, he tried but she declined so he went off to write. Maybe there's a future for them down the road, it seems the writer was steering Rory to make the same life choices as her mom and Jess to be her Luke. We'll see if it happens, but idk if Milo and Alexis will want to work with each other again on a regular basis. Idk how bad their break-up was but from I've heard Milo started talking about marriage after four years and Alexis bolted and he got depressed and started dating an 18 year old tv cheerleader.

the fact jess says “girls” and not just a single girl, i think hints at maybe jess has had relationships in the past where he threw his heart out and got stomped on. i feel like he used to be more upfront about his feelings, but started hiding those away due to past trauma, afraid of being hurt again. this is also probably why he self destructs, if he’s the one to ruin everything, why not have some control. this scene hurts on so many levels.
