You thought The Conjuring was bad? Watch The Exorcist. Without lights. At night. Fun facts about The Conjuring: Annabelle was actually not a porcelain doll, but rather a simple Raggedy Ann doll. The Warren's Artifact Room is I think meant to be what would later become a real museum they opened that you could actually visit, but their daughter closed it for some reason

The Conjuring is a great horror film and the one that started the most successful horror franchise of all time! It is very suspenseful and captures true terror. The acting is incredible, the story is creative, and it’s perfectly shot and edited. This is from James Wan, the same guy responsible for Saw and Insidious. He really seems to know what he’s doing when it comes to horror films. I do think that the first Annabelle, The Curse of La Llorana, and The Nun were all misfires, but it's an overall really solid franchise.

@@vizer0424 Still based on a true story. The movie didn't claim to be a one to one reenactment of the alleged events, it just says that it's based on real world events, which is true. For the record I agree that the actual story was a lie and not supernatural, but it doesn't change that wether or not what happened was "real" or not, it still happened.

There are a lot of terrifying facts about what the Perron family went through, some too horrifying to even put into the movie. The family actually lived in the house for 10 years and the place is riddled with spirits. It's not sure if that woman deamon was a witch as she wasn't hanged for being one nor did she hang herself, she died of a stroke, but she was suspected by some of the villagers back then. The part about the baby and the needle is still unknown, however she did have a baby that died and there was a mysterious, tiny hole just about visible at the back of its head but nothing was ever proven, However, some in the Perron family would feel as though tiny pins were being stabbed into their legs while sleeping and would see tiny holes that bled were they felt them and at one point. There was a hanging that happened on the grounds but it was someone from the neighbouring village who hanged herself in the barn. Also the house was used as a nursery and on some of the old tables the kids back then had drawn stick figures of a woman with a bent neck. There is evidence of the mum in the Perron family being possessed as the eldest daughter (who wrote three books about their time living at the house), saw her mum speak another language and witnessed he being thrown from her chair across the room. However, whatever evil spirit/demon that is in the house (whether its the witch or not, no one truly knows what it is) is still there. What really happened at the end was after Ed and Lorraine did a seance to try and contact thr evil spirit/demon which resulted in the mum being thrown across the room, the dad blamed what happened on Ed and Lorraine, punched Ed in the face and told them to leave. People who visit the conjuring house for ghost hunts get a lot of activity there and experience the evil presence that seemed to mostly remain in the basement of the house and some have been truly affected by it negatively. The son of the family who live there now who are ghost hunters themselves had to stay away from the house for a while as it affected him so badly. One really creepy fact about the house that was discovered recently was back then, one of the daughters would hear each night the same phrase over and over again of people saying "There a seven dead soldiers buried in the walls" and recently, the family who live there bow got a guy whose job is finding old graves with a machine he uses and he went over the entire garden, finding possible graves scattered everywhere, but when he went close to the wall of the house, he found seven possible grave sightings with his machine. There are many good spirits at the house which made living in the house bearable for the Perron family, but for the mum especially, that evil spirit became too much for her, especially after the seance Ed and Lorraine had conducted which I also blame them for as seances, when something evil is present, is extremely dangerous to conduct. Do I believe they're scammers, no, there's too much evidence in Lorraine's case as her Clarivoyance was tested scientifically before, but I do believe in many cases they made the hauntings worse by conducting seances and other things, although I believe they did truly want to help. As for Annabelle, not much actually happened. The doll moved on its own many times in the nurses' home and any who visited and stayed overnight had nightmares of the doll strangling them. Some years ago though, a man who visited the Warren's museum that Annabelle is in made fun of the doll and dared it and after leaving he was in a fatal accident that he died from, but that could be just a coincidence.

People's recollections of the past are not facts. Facts require evidence such as video, etc. Over time humans tend to exaggerate their memories especially ones from when they were kids which is a proven scientific fact. Most of the details in this story are in fact true. But in real life Ed never actually performed an exorcism, especially since those can only be done by a Catholic priest. But they summoned a spirit through a séance. According to Andrea, the oldest Perron daughter, she secretly witnessed the conjuring where her mother Carolyn became temporarily possessed. She said her mom began to speak in tongue, then her chair levitated and she was thrown across the room. The dad eventually kicked the Warrens out because he was afraid for his wife and the family continued to live in that house for 10 years (while being haunted) because of financial difficulties. Fun fact: The real Lorraine has a cameo in this movie (at around 44 mins). She is the older woman in the front row of the classroom when Carolyn is listening to the Warrens' presentation (she was also a consultant). This movie came out in 2013. Ed died in 2006 and Lorraine died in 2019. Annabelle Comes Home, which was released about two months after Lorraine died, is dedicated to her. No so fun fact: The real-life Carolyn Perron fell and broke her hip while her family was visiting the set. Cast and crew also experienced strange events during filming, such as scratches appearing on Vera Farmiga’s (Lorraine) computer after signing on for the film and people randomly waking up between 3 and 4 am. Also, I don't know if you recognised Mackenzie Foy who played Cindy (the one who kept sleepwalking and banging her head against the closet) but she played Renesmee, Bella and Edward's daughter in Twilight. Joey King who's been in many movies and TV shows also played Christine (the one who kept being pulled down the bed).

it's a myth that you shouldn't wake someone who is sleepwalking. most of the time it's easier to just lead them back to bed. if they are in a position where they can hurt themselves or others you absolutly should wake them up. say if they might walk into things, or reach a stair, for example.

18:00 the sleepwalking myth says, you could give the sleepwalker a heart attack or they might react violently. But it’s just a myth, you can wake people up when they sleep walk but don’t be too forceful either they would probably get startled and scared. Not a fun feeling. Lots of kids go through a sleepwalking phase. My younger sister used to sleep walk a lot during elementary school years, and she stoped when she was a teenager. My dad said he also used to sleep walk as a kid but stopped during his teen years.

As a professional watcher of Supernatural, the series, every method they use here to detect the spirits; the EMF, photographing, voice recording, shadows, and mirrors.. are also used in the series, so I can confirm that UV light or night vision cameras must be actually working for ghost or spirit prints since Sam and Dean use them a lot for hand and grip prints of ghosts and spirits. (tho I don't know about real-life supernatural investigating) Also yes, UV lights are used to check if there are any blood marks in case they've been cleaned beforehand. Edit: Apparently (acc to my knowledge that I got from watching various shows), spirits get attached to an object or a person through an object. So I believe when Lorraine left/lost her necklace in the basement, the spirit was able to reach the daughter through the necklace since those were their mother-daughter necklaces and this makes the necklaces kinda connected.

This is without a doubt one of my absolute FAVORITE horror movies. The fact that it could be so scary and put us, the viewers, on edge the way it does without the typical horror movie body count is such a testament to the filmmakers' skills. As far as the real life Warrens and the debacle on if they were scammers or not, I don't believe they thought they were. They were just very, very religious and tended to believe the supernatural answers to mysteries much more willingly, even in cases where it turned out the family was faking demonic activity.

When it comes to believing in Vampires, there was a killer named Richard Chase, who killed people to drink their blood. He thought that his blood had a sickness causing it to dry up. He had to replenish his blood supply constantly. He viciously murdered people and made smoothies out of them. Even stole a baby to eat.

Reasons you aren’t supposed to wake a sleepwalker: Some say that the act will outright kill the sleepwalking person; while others warn of possible brain damage, extreme shock, the onset of a heart attack, or other similarly harmful results.

I've just looked it up and apparently the heart attack thing is a myth. The only downside to waking a sleepwalker is disorientation, but studies have been done and there are no lasting side effects. The reason most people don't wake sleepwalkers is its honestly really hard to. Unless they're in danger, its easier to just lead them back to bed.

So blacklights work on any bodily fluid including sweat which is what I think they were trying to indicate here however, it wouldn't be that clear. And I live in the country with not a lot of external lights. If the lighting is striking nearby (the bolt) it will flash the room. If it's just heat lighting, not so much. If you like the actress who played the mother, I first met her in the movie Mystic Pizza (great 80's movie).

The real thing wasn't as intense as the movie, but it has been recorded that yes a girl was lifted by an invisible force and thrown across the room and the Witch herself is real too. Of course the 2 families are real too.

The reason you’re not supposed to wake up someone who is sleepwalking is because since they’re not fully conscious and aware of what’s going on around them….they could easily attack you, or try to hurt themselves. The best thing to do is to just let them do whatever (try to calmly take the back to bed) but prevent them from going outside, or from grabbing any objects like a pencil, fork, or knife that they can use as a weapon….and if you’re in a house or apartment that has stairs, go with them to prevent them from possibly jumping off

Doing paranormal investigations can be fun and while setting up and investigating is fun packing up is always a pain also my favorite part of this movie is the fact that Loraine was in the crowd (older lady with glasses and white curly hair) when they were talking at the University before they went to the house.

Hey girls, I really enjoyed your reactions to this film. U asked about Ed & Lorraine Warren. Ok, from interviews I've seen & a documentary on their lives, they were very much in love w/one another. They were both very religious people. Ed studied demonology so he was quite knowledgeable on demonic possession. The thing is Ed gave me a**hole vibes in the interviews. He was the one doing all the talking & made me think of a salesman w/a pitch. I don't know, maybe it's just me. I do believe that Lorraine was a psychic medium. They r considered the parents of paranormal research, although many paranormal researchers nowadays roll their eyes & say "They were not very scientific in their investigations." It was because they heavily relied on Lorraine's "gifts" rather than scientific research/factual proof. The Amityville Horror was their most famous/infamous case. Yes, there r 2 movies of the same name. The original came out in 1979. The remake w/Ryan Reynolds came out in 2005. It is said that the Lutz family lied about some if not all of the happenings in their home because they were in financial trouble & decided to write a "true" ghost story. I have done a bit of ghost hunting w/a friend, a digital recorder & spirit box. Some interesting stuff happened. O, & the clapping in the movie reminded me of my real life experience. Anyway, Hayley & Stella, I really do enjoy u 2 being added to the channel. Can't wait to see what u have in store.😊

They did scam people with the amount of cases solved not with the realness of some of the cases like with Annabelle, and The Conjuring, and The Nun. Those were some real cases but a lot of them were in fact fake ones to further their publicity.

When "The Conjuring" first came out, it was a fresh take on the genre and the creepiest horror film to come around in a long time, in my opinion. It got me interested in The Warren's as well, but you are not wrong to take the "based on a true story" with a grain of proverbial salt. During my research, I learned that The Perron family actually kicked Ed Warren out. Lol
