Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson's chemistry and portrayal of Ed and Lorraine is really the heart of these movies. Amidst all this scary stuff happening it's just a beautiful love story. Btw, if you're going to watch the whole franchise a fun fact is that Vera Farmiga's sister Taissa Farmiga plays the lead in The Nun.

If you payed attention to the scene with everyone trying to confront the spirit i with Janet holding water in her mouth, if you look closely at Janet despite her being blurry you can see throughout the conversation she starts shifting into the OLD MAN!!! Then when ed pulls the cross out and he starts wailing, you can SEE her shrink back down to normal, it’s CRAZZYYYYYY!!!

As for watching the rest of the Conjuring "Universe" that is a "yes!" There are definitely a few within the universe that are not all that great, but there are also definitely a couple that are completely worth a watch, "Annabel Creation" for example.

The Warrens were con artists at best. It's been proven definitivly the Enfield poltergeist was the teen girl making shit up. One of the kids from Amityville admitted the parents and the Warrens made up and embellished 98% of the story (there was some unexplained knocking sounds and that was it) after hearing about the murders. Every other case attributed to them can be explained with totally normal nonsupernatural means. They preyed on people who were scared and desperate to shove themselves into the media spotlight

Ed and Loraine loved each other very much. There was no abuse or scandal, and they passed away pretty recently. And there are some clips from old talk shows that Janet went on as an adult which gives quite a lot of information about what happened. (I only know all of this because I’m a paranormal nerd.) This movie is more true to the story while the first one isn’t because, the family in the first movie didn’t get a happy ending, they kicked the Warrens out, claiming that the exorcism was making it worse (So in reality at the exorcism part in the first movie was cut short because Roger had it stopped. They ended up living with the spirit till they died) So yeah, that’s ghosts for ya-…😅

It doesn't take away from how scary the movies are, but watching this, and seeing how absolutely terrified you 2 got defo made it easier to watch 🤣 when I found out Ed slly assed a teen (and she did nothing to help her) and investigations into ed and Lorraine were concluded as faking their stories and paying people it ruined it but seeing your reaction to the universe brings back a love for these mlvies. Which btw they admitted they did and by people who were involved don't worry I'm not a hater Just bc one faked it doesn't mean they all do so again don't worry, I'm just giving some info.

Javier Botet is the actor who played the Crooked Man. It wasn't stop-motion animation at all. He's incredibly thin and tall, and he absolutely knocked that role out of the park!!!

The reason why he painted valak is because The way that Ed and Lorraine Warren got Into houses is that Lorraine warren senses the evil in the house then Ed paints a picture of the house and hopes to be let in and him painting valak is a reference to that

I am not religious, but time and again with upside down crosses being devil this and that just broke me with fear. I deleted a horror game I was playing because there was a moment when three crosses in the hall flipped 😂 I'm like no, you're not gonna curse me. I have enough spooks following me around. The first time the letters appeared were the ones I hadn't seen before. I think I saw them before in the later scene when she's writing in the book, but that was maybe only a couple years ago I spotted those haha. Those letters are just little wooden letters sitting on the book shelf. The same letters were used in the previous scene. But on a shelf about mid screen as the camera pans. Feels a bit too on the nose to have those letters there. I think I didn't notice them in the 2nd scene before because I was distracted by her writing those letters in the book. They feel a bit excessive. It's kinda funny though, I've seen several reactors miss the old man sittin in the chair.

Yes they really did play on the "true story" part of this one, but it's not for nothing. I am Scottish, born in 1986, and I had heard of this case, I had even seen the photos and read about the recordings and the police officers accounts, long before I ever saw this film! Whether you believe the photos and recordings are themselves real is up to the individual, but the story itself did happen to a degree and is pretty well documented.

This one was a good movie and actually more accuret in some things than the original one was because the first one exept for the names of the family had nothing to do with what really happened. Other than the Crooked Man (which by the way they are planning to make a movie about soon) and Valak of course it was pretty close to the true story and even the real family said so also fun fact the actress of Janet isn't actually British and she also had a small part in James Wan's movie Malignant as well. Some say this one is scarier but personally the first one will always be the best and most scary of all the movies in the franchise. If you are going to watch others of the franchise I would say check out Annabelle Creation and Annabelle comes home cause the first movie wasn't the best though I still enjoyed it. You can also check out the Nun personally I hated everything about that movie but some liked it so you might too and just to clarify La Rona is not and I repeate is not apart of the Franchise it just happens to have the priest from the first Annabelle movie in it that is all and even James himself said so. By the way the Crooked Man is not CGI he is a real life actor who is actually that tall and also acted in the movie Slenderman which is also based on a real life case though what happens in the movie isn't what happened in the real life story. Ed Warren passed away at the age of 79 and Lorraine Warren passed away at the age of 92 in the year 2019.

The opening scene referenced The Amityville Horror. You can tell from the opening shot of the distinctive windows seen from the inside. The rest of the movie is the Enfield Haunting. There was a televised 'investigation' which showed on Channel 4 here in the UK. I believe that the Warrens were mentioned, but did not appear on the show. There was a psychic there. The main presenter was obviously sceptical, but a second presenter spent time in the house with the family, and heard some very strange sounds. Their findings were inconclusive.

The actress that plays Janet , Madison Wolfe, is surprisingly american she played this role so well imo i thought she was an english actress. But she's also has a lead role in the movie I Kill Giants and apparently she'll be in a true crime thriller (leading role) that's called Man in the White Van but the date it comes out has yet to be released

In the lesser key, the Spirit Valac (in the conjuring known as the nun) is actually described as in a child's form with more a cherubic form to appeal to any who summon him. Makes more sense now that he was involved in the constant battle with the Warrens

In C.S. Lewis's Screwtape Letters, Heaven is filled with music, and Hell is filled with noise. And worship of God is musical. So I've always like the idea of the Warrens playing music to ward off evil and to raise the family's spirits.

Chronologically speaking, The Nun is technically the first story in the whole Conjuring timeline. The Nun - The Nun 2 (set in 1956, France) - Annabelle: Creation - Annabelle - The Conjuring - Annabelle Comes Home - The Conjuring 2 - The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. But if you meant in terms of release, then yeah, The Nun (2018) is before TCJ3 (2021).

One of the most important moments (in our history): "How is no one in this house awake?" 3:17 That part of the story really happened (really). Butch DeFeo shot his entire family (over two floors) while they slept in their beds. No one woke up. No one tested positive for any type of drugs. No one has EVER been able to explain that.
