The Glen Sessions - Rónán Ó Snodaigh - "Raise The Road"

He came down to do a impromptu recording while playing in Sligo reciently and we were delighted to do a Glen Session with him.. Thanks again Big Man!

As a beginner with the bohdran it's nice to see it used like this. Standing, no tonal hand, and for a tune-not just an exhibition of speed and dexterity.

oh there's plenty of tonal hand playing. Just being used differently than contemporary playing styles.

Take a break and Raise the Road before Ya, What a great rocking song this. I got to hear this song for the first time this morning, It is a song that could have been heard and sang 4 thousand years ago yet it is fresh as a daisy and right up to date so sing this song as you go about your daily life and Raise the Road before.

This is my favourite of the Glens Sessions as a single voice and a Bodhrán is a beautiful match for the ancient Glen. Ancient instrument for an ancient place. Captures the soul of the place. Happy to see this. Maith thú folks!
