Recession cause consumption weakening, demand will go higher and high until peak production is reached, no such thing as peak demand of oil long-term.

A good and balanced interview, I totally agree with the sentiment here. Its situations like these that presents the greatest opportunity, when the world is mislead by a false narrative, such as the EV boom going to replace oil consumption and peak demand.

It’s less recovery in China and more China factories ramping up due to global tarrifs that are coming. Companies trying to get products into countries before tarrifs go into play. So slight bump in exports august, sept and October ….then exports will slow significantly . Also don’t ignore the huge impact of us congressional sub committee on CCP who just passed 25 laws against China . Those laws will have huge impact to Chinas economy.

The U.S. is largely irrelevant to China now. China exports to the U.S. make up less than 17% of Chinese exports. Just ten years ago, it was almost half.

@ScottRuark-q8x 2 ай бұрын
Sub committee’s don’t pass laws-we don’t have the power to control China-we trade with them or we don’t. Chinese companies are building plants in Mexico and SE Asia at a high pace to avoid tariffs.

Sankey is now very bearish on oil? Currie is relying on geopolitics to support his bullish case, but he is much less aggressive now. Even Nuttall is less bullish nowadays. As an investor this is very confusing.

Correct premise. Demand diversification . Oil just doesn't go into auto gas . Lower prices for auto gas funds the jihad less .

I thought US production was at risk of falling too. And if oil prices fall to 60 then a lot of the US producers are out of business.

LOL. That is what the oil and energy cartels are. Go ahead. Keep feeding the greedy F's Skippy. You people talk about freedom? Lol Freedom is NEVER having to buy your energy from some corporate bloodsucker. You will never own an oil well or a refinery in your back yard. Where as I will never see an energy bill again unless I travel and need a super charger. Which is twice a year.

Nobody ever talk about solid state batteries for EV. Toyota and Panasonic have been working on them since 2015. Reports are 2028 will be in commercial production. 2030 more realistic. But they will be a game changer. Prices will be cheaper. Lighter. Fire proof. Ten minute recharge. If that happens. Prices for be will be the same for gas and electric. But cheaper for EV to maintain. Oil demand will drop big time by 2035.

Battery storage is not magic and doesn’t replace the need for power. Where do you get your power from. Whoever has the most power at the lowest cost will be the leading economic power in the world, the USA is voluntarily giving up this position to others. You seem to be concerned about emissions or something else that you don’t like. Believe me governments don’t care about climate they care about staying in power!

lol. This stuff is the same as nuclear fusion, it is perpetually 10 years away. It’s not gonna happen. Until we understand super conductivity and recreate it at reasonable temperatures - batteries will remain roughly where they are. They are basically at their thermodynamic limit.

50% of new cars sold in China are EVs and hybrids, and there are booming sales of EVs in ASEAN, Central Asia, Australia, Mexico, Scandinavia, Russia, and Latin America. China is also increasing its use of gas. EVs cost less to operate.

You’re not correct. Need to distinguish between EVs and Hybrids. China mistakenly counts hybrids in their EV numbers. Highest selling car models in China this year are plug in hybrids not EVs. And even with hybrids 2024 market share verses ICE is still only 46%. Still a long way off from pure electric. Most consumers are preferring hybrids.

A person who talks about oil that doesn’t trade the real physical barrels of oil lol. Oil not equal to gasoline. Oil is a mixture of hydrocarbons that needs to be refined. China is exporting hydrocarbons today which is affecting other regions that export are hydrocarbons products. If you don’t know, hydrocarbon products are over capacity today. Physical barrels demand are at peak already.

Wow. What a low quality, finance biased, shallow view of the current and near term energy picture. And the comment section is ridiculous, full of stovepiped opinionated position defenders. Think bigger picture people. Oil ain’t going anywhere in this civilization but oil price is highly dependent on current demand. Ignore manipulated government programs. Pay attention to supply/demand relationship. And research real climate science. Bison has clearly always lived in a nice neighborhood. Consider his POV, too.

Vanguard and Blackrock ETFs have large holdings in many of the land royalties producing oil and gas that i own; many of the pipelines, and oil and gas floating steel (ships). Oil and gas will provide the majority of power for your great great grandchildren and the 4 or 5 billion other people currently who lack reliable electricity. I can never understand how the 2 billion ppl in the west living in luxury can rationalize keeping the majority of the world in abject poverty...bc they simply want to. SMH
