I don’t normally comment on videos, but with this one I just have to! I have so many things to say but I’ll attempt to keep it short. I love your tutorials. They are aesthetically pleasing. Not just viewing wise, you make it so easy to see what you’re doing. But also sound wise. Your voice is soooo calm, but you are also fun! This pattern is gorgeous, I’m doing it two strand with mandala, Gnome and Wizard, and I feel like it’s going to be one of my favorite pieces. But enough about that. I wanted to thank you. Because you don’t go too fast, but you also don’t go so slow that I feel the urge to speed up the video. You are one of the only KZbin instructors that I have no problem following along to! And! If it weren’t for you I would have never figured out the virus stitch. After finding your channel I catch myself planning my yarn around the patterns you have tutorials for 😂 I just wanted to say thank you! You are such a wonderful, fun, layed back person and incredibly talented as an artist AND as an instructor. I wish I knew you in real life!

Wolfie Baxter 12345 I agree with everything will feed Baxter just said. I have reconnected with crocheting after many years. My mother had taught me, but I didn’t really take to it. Now I’m older, 72, and I found fiber spider and have learned more watching your videos and following them than I ever did before. In fact I made this blanket is pretty much the same colors and gave it to my daughter. She loved it and was so proud of me. LOL I also agree that you are pleasant to listen to and very easy to follow your videos. I would also like to know you you have such a wonderful personality. OK enough money now I’m back to my crocheting! Keep up the good work fiber spider! And keep the videos coming!

I was going to comment the same thing about his calm soothing voice, He speaks at the right tempo so you can crochet along with him and he encourages you as you go. I'm crocheting lapghans and donating to the local hospital for their cancer patients (who sit long periods of time while receiving chemo treatment--and need a small cover-up on their legs). I crocheted the Bavarian Stitch lapghan using 12 ounces of variegated yarn and it's the perfect lap size. Thank you Fiber Spider!!

I love this so much. I made one big square. I'm going to make a few more and make a big blanket. I'm using berroco dash yarn. It's super spongey, soft merino wool. It doesn't have great stitch definition so this pattern is perfect for it! And I love all the different fall colors speckled throughout. Thanks for uploading this and it's nice to think that five years later Gloria is still being remembered! ❤️

Perfect teacher! Not too fast or slow. Not wasting time explaining basic stitches that should be known already but explaining while showing new stitches that need work. Slow action showing where the hook is being placed and the exact stitch going into. Enough repetitions of repeat rows to ensure we can move forward. Excellent tutorial!

What a treat it is to actually be able to SEE exactly what the tutor is doing! With most other people I wind up talking back to the vidio..."Wait! Where exactly did you insert the hook? Move your fingers out a bit! Slow down!" I am left handed and have to mentally reverse everything and when I can't see every detail of a stitch it isn't easy. Guessing isn't a good thing. You are a wonderful designer and your tutorials are a total delight to watch. You don't rush and your manner is always calm. I hadn't thought about doing a granny design as I made many granny projects when I first started crocheting a lonnng time ago. There was so little variety in them "way back when"... This design is different...I love post stitches... and I love the look of the completed design!

I have learnt to do it and I'm so grateful that you have taught me how to do this, which I'm making into a blanket, to hear and see a man crotchet is brilliant. So I am dedicating my blanket when it is finished to you because you talk and sound like a lovely person. So clear and slowly talking, thankyou once again. Perhaps now that the Virus is hear a lot more men will learn to crotchet, beginning with your tutorials. Thankyou my friend. Oh by the way I am over 70 so I have to stay in, I will never be bored.

It was great to find your videos. I actually looked you up because Creative Grandma sent me your way. I have been in a wheelchair for about four years now and before COVID, I was still active coaching softball. Since the pandemic started, I have not left my house since February. While talking to a friend, we joked that I should learn to crochet. Haha, three days later, a crochet kit and some yarn showed up at my house. Challenge accepted. My first project was a pot holder. Then a couple of blankets, 3 towels and a partridge in a pear tree. It was so great to find another male who not only can crochet but is by far the best instructor I have watched. Thank you for being you. You and a few others have brought joy back to my life. I am starting to get requests from family and friends and, I can always find something in your tutorials. I wanted you to know how appreciated you are.

Cecely Hinga when I found out my father crocheted at age 6 my mind was BLOWN! 😂 My grandmother Mary, (she started my crochet training) told me she taught my dad. I didn’t believe her at the time. Then when football season started my dad pulled out this huge bag of yarn I had NEVER seen in my life, and started crocheting a blanket. I WAS STUNNED 😳. He was fast, accurate and rarely looked at his work. I respected him and all men that craft from that day on. 😉😊🥰

I did this great pillow in one color with this pattern. I have some weird insulation that my VA sends me with my insulin supplies. It seems to be made of fabric that has been shredded and compressed. I made a pillow for my daughter because of a problem with her legs. The cats use it when she isn't using it and do the kneading thing on it. I intend to make the beautiful shawl for my other daughter. She and her husband got COVID and have been tasteless for a few months. We are taking them to the Grand Canyon on my birthday.

This is a lovely blanket, one thing I need to ask you is it something wrong of your camera? Because last time your video screen was very small, I only can watch it on the small iPad, the screen already small and you make it even smaller, and I saw some other people did mention it too, please make it like before, that will be very appreciate. Thank you

Judy Chan I wish it were larger without the black border too. There is a way to make it bigger but the border is still there. In the bottom right corner of the black border is a square box symbol. If you click on it the video (with the border) will fill the entire screen. To minimize it back to the normal size click the symbol in the lower right corner that has the box corners reversed. This is on an iPad but I think android tablets have a similar feature.

@@martinafoots8309 If you are using a computer I'd suggest that you exit "full screen" mode and from there hold down the ctrl button and scroll using the wheel on your mouse. It will enlarge the video more than using the full screen mode. I hope that works for you.

How do you make a lap blanket from this? Also how do you connect the squares together?
@Fluffymagicalbunny
@Fluffymagicalbunny 5 жыл бұрын
Just keep going till it is lap blanket size. You could just whip stitch them together if you are making a lot of squares.

Elizabeth in Montreal thanks you for for de-mystifying the simple granny square which I have stayed away from until now. You are a stellar teacher and I will look for more great content on your channel in the future. Thank you so much... my group (Becket Knitpickers) knits and crochets for charity here and I will be telling them all about you next week at our monthly meeting!!

I viewed the video by Rose Likes Crochet using this pattern. It was beautiful!!! She made the blanket,using large squares. Each square was made with the double treble in the post below, just as you taught us. It made gorgeous squares!!! I wouldn't have thought of using that technique in the granny. Thanks for giving us the vision to make our work even better.! I'm going to use that double treble more often now!☺
