What a beautiful pile of cards and investments for you, but cherished memories for me. Even after all the WotC and Hasbro recent moves to burn the game to the ground, seeing these older sets remind me of the times from playing I really cherished. I just feel old lamenting over what we lost, but I'd love to walk into a local store and be able to just jump in an 8 or 16 person sealed event or decent sixed draft, but the local stores that even still try to hold these events usually have so few people they don't even fire up. I do enjoy Arena, but it isn't the same. I hate Wizards and Hasbro gutted pro-play, decent event support, and great rewards for playing at your local LGS. I'd go back to paper Magic in a heartbeat if those things were possible and if they started supporting Standard events and sets better by, like in the past, putting cards into older formats by introducing them through standard sets. I guess we can all dream, sadly it is just a dream. I just don't think I'll ever see that sort of environment again if the game even survives in a post LGS/direct sales only era, which I don't think will happen.

Love these long-form discussion videos. I've learned a thing or two that have helped me quite a bit in the way I approach finances and investment from these types of Rudy videos. Like minimizing risk over looking for maximum profits. I was previously just kind of winging it with stock and crypto trades, not employing DCA, not even setting stop-losses, and little things that can make a big difference in extremely volatile market conditions. It's really kind of a "duh" approach but sometimes just hearing thats how others do it is what it takes to make one actually apply that approach oneself. I come from biology/chemistry and never took an economics or business course in my life, so some of these "financial literacy" concepts were totally foreign to me.

Ha! My friends in Nashville have gotten SO many random Beta commons from The Great Escape over the years. (The company listed on that one card with a dozen price stickers all covering each other.) I don't live there, but I love that place whenever I visit; it's not a Magic/gaming store, per se, more of a knicknacks, memorabilia, and other cool stuff store, so they get random collections all the time, and don't track prices as closely as some game-focused stores, so you can find some really great deals sometimes.
