The Goal of the Gospel

What is the goal of the Christian gospel? Many believe it is heaven, but this view diminishes Jesus to merely a spiritual tool. He become how we avoid hell. Instead, the New Testament presents Jesus himself as the goal. Failure to understand this leads many within the church to become inoculated to the true message of Christianity.

Great video! I would love to hear your presentation of what the gospel is as I believe that most of today’s churches are not correctly presenting it. I would say that the gospel is: that God sent Jesus to redeem for Himself a people to be His Kingdom. And He has placed Jesus at His right hand making him King over all of the earth’s governmental authorities. His resurrection gives proof that He has been given all authority in heaven and on the earth. God now commands men everywhere to submit to His Son’s Kingship and to obey His commands, otherwise you will be counted as one of His enemies and dealt with appropriately.

So you are not a believer in a literal heaven or hell. That must make you very unpopular with a lot of Christians.

No he’s saying getting to heaven when we die is not the goal of the gospel. The goal is GOD. Jesus didn’t say none gets to heaven but through me. He said “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. None comes to THE FATHER but through me.” John 14:6
