amazing drumming! i am in awe! i haven't sat behind a kit in 47 years; but recently i have followed Don Brewers advice that he gave me 21 years ago when i met him personally at a concert; he said that i need to start playing again. a year later i had a hemorrhagic stroke that damn near killed me, but left me with a severe brain injury 20 years ago. i'm trying to get "back on the horse".

Oh please! So tired of everyone thing Neil was the best drummer of all time. Stewart Copeland and Omar Hakeem are miles ahead of him. Terry Bozio! Tim Bonomo! Neil was very good and in the top tier of the best drummers out there but he was totally at the bottom end of that tier.

@@EyesoreJr Neil Peart was not the best technician of his generation, but that's not why he is remembered today. Neil Peart was a pioneer, bringing all sorts of outside elements into rock drumming. He was a lyricist, putting a lifetime of reading into his work. He was a composer, he practically never improvised a single note. But most of all, Neil Peart was an inspiration. He inspired many thousands of people to play the drums. If you ask me, that's worth more than holding the record for fastest single stroke roll.

I never said anything about Neil as a man, lyricist, pioneer or whatever. All I am trying to say is that while AS A DRUMMER Neil was very good and deserves to be mentioned when someone talks about the most influential drummers and the “Top Tier” drummers in rock but when people call him a “God” or “The Best Ever” it’s just not true. I know everyone has an opinion but, if I made a list of 20 drummers, from all different styles of music and made people watch a song being played by each of those drummers, and asked them if any of them were better than Neil, if they told the truth, close to half would be better.

John Bonham was the god of drums dude did things that were non-traditional like following the vocalist rather than the bassist. The guy in the video has skill and is playing a self written song called the god of drums in dedication to another person which is a nice thing to do. I've been a drummer for over two decades and can see where he has things he can work on and I know no one is perfect as we are all growing and learning in our craft. Guy did a nice thing for someone so kudos for that.

Gotta agree. I am drummer myself. Can play at a very high level. John Bonham and Pete Sandoval were the two that landed me smack in the middle ,where I found Vinnie Paul's footwork to be very cool and when I heard Becoming for the 1st time, I knew that album was my new favorite. Listened to Zeppelin for years. Morbid for the Covenant and Domination years,but I would play Far beyond driven and Vulgar Display Of Power more than any other as I've seen 29 years go by since FBD. 32 since Covenant, and 28 since Domination. Hell I guess it's been 33 since Vulgar now.tine flies. But yeah. I felt the inner me when watching and listening thinking that in all honesty. This was actually kinda cheesy. The keyboard on the 3 and, was predictable. The ba doo doo ba doo doo ba doo doo ba doo doo....crash ... crash. Not something you want to do in front of accomplished drummers today. It's the really the first thing done when you get a double pedal or double kicks. Simple is an over statement. There were some parts, but I think you held your opinion back a tad. That wasn't bad, but it dang sure wasn't something that I would be in a hurry for people to hear. Matter of fact. I would never allow it. It's hard to explain man. Dudes got rhythm. But I think you know what I'm trying to say. Or expand on what you said.

eh... but yeah, all of your gimmicks are a bit much... pick one. Kicks are inefficient, extra toms are unnecessary and mask is way over done all over the music scene. Video quality is lacking and keyboards sound cheap. Composition of song is typical. But practice makes perfect. I will not dislike but I also wont like. Good luck, I hope the criticism helps you find your way to your own "thing".

As musician's we should be giving each other a pat on the back for the work we do and any criticism should be constructive not destructive, so what if he calls himself God of drums, he has paid his dues and sits on top where do you sit? where has your best work gotten you so far. All of us who work hard at our craft deserve some accolades and so should he. By the way, he does not care what you say like I said he is already on top, what is your position so far and do you really think you will accomplish the things that this guy has. I just think the people who critisize like this are a: jealous or B: not nearly as good as they think they are. Put up or shut up, simple.

Geez, I thought us drummers stuck together. I'd like to see vids of the guys saying this is not good drumming by AVK. Certainly there are better drummers out there, but this guy smokes the skins extremely well in my opine. I agree that the 'God' thing was misleading, when I saw that tagline on the main page I immediately dove in to see who calls themselves this, but I quickly realized that the title was meant for some other guy that apparently AVK is a big fan of. Drum on fellows! Support instead of bashing!

I love that your playing a Mapex kit. They are very underrated drum sets that sound amazing. I cant tell if your playing Evans EC2'S or the Black Chromes? Although some look clear which I would assume is the EC2. The kit sounded awesome... Only thing that throws me off is it looks like your playing the slave pedal of two double bass drums? Those leg/foot shots look wild.

Houdini TJ I did, and I'll do it again for sure. And let me tell you why: I have a major in marketing and advertising. I know people would never find my content if I didn't use all the promotional tools I can get to put my work out there. The hate I get from people here, is only because I am not an established name as Portnoy, Manginni or any other drummer who has a bigger career, but still I use basic advertising techniques in the name titles. The gimmick of the mask, the big drum sets, the use of post-production in the content is all part of the game. The fact people are very ignorant to realize they can waste their time reading the NOW! magazine or any other shitty type of meadow instead of watching videos from guys like us attempting something fun really messes with my mind but still, gives me a lot of joy to answer to almost all the comments in the same way they write. Although, I never take them personal.
