I would like to point you to this video with the point that is made: A molecule has mass when it traverses an area of molecules, interacting and connecting, and bonding with the molecules in that area. Molecules without mass, speed through that area and don't actually interact or form bonds or connections therein. This is what light itself in its purest molecular form does, it simply traverses the area as quickly as possible. It may be sucked into a black hole, but thats what black holes do.

I think you're also confused about what astrophysics is. Astrophysics is the study of physics applied to space (this is a simplified explanation). The Higgs Boson is a quantum mechanical idea, as its interactions between fermions on the quantum level is what causes them to have mass. As for the Higgs Boson itself having ties to the evolution of life. You're right it does. So does electromagnatism. It's responsible for the mass had by the group of elementary particles called fermions.

The ultimate proof for God's existence! I love when the Bible is proven right (like every single time). Philosophically the Bible explains that light forms matter and that the Logos (Greek for "word") creates and defines non matter. In the case of the God particle it is the Logos which gives matter _mass_ and _density_ and, gives us the ability to sense things such as spatial awareness, wetness, dryness, heat and cold, etc.

An intriguing thing about Genesis is that the direct Hebrew translation always says that God became or is becoming his creation. Now, this may be the super late night talking, but it would seem to indicate that God is the Universe, and our universe is sentient. Once you get down to the level of bosons, you're not really talking about substance so much as you're describing behavior. At a certain level we start to leave our realm of existence, but the infinite nature of bosons means you could theoretically follow that chain literally forever.

So like an infinite chain of different size layers/collections of subatomic particles? Could our perceived universe be categorised as a subatomic particle existing in an infinitely larger chain of layers? It could then be possible for intelligent life to exist in our universes subatomic particles, and for intelligent life to exists in these bigger realms; much much larger than our universe, studying their own visible layers of particles. We may even be able to reach a point where humans can shrink down to subatomic levels (like ant man) and access other subatomic universes. What if our technology can only be advanced enough to look deeper, but not outward? Id imagine then it would be impossible for us to access outer layers due to our mass. Maybe when we die, when we no longer have mass, our spirit can exist in an outer layer.

No, he didn't. Light is composed of photons; which have no invariant mass. Energy and force formulas for light are based in complex quantum mechanics as light functions as both wave and particle; not the classical formulas you have provided which do not work at the level of light. There can be an argument for relativistic versus invariant mass but nothing Bill said was incorrect according to what we know of physics now.

He's acting as spokes person for the scientific community. He never even makes any claims about the higgs boson aside from it being responsible for subatomic particles haveing mass. Which is the most basic idea of the higgs boson. Maybe he's not a specialist in quantum mechanics, but it doesn't take a specialist in nuclear physics to say that heavy, unstable atoms decay into smaller, more stable ones. Its the same idea, not some attempt to "obfuscate the truth". Quite the opposite in fact.

Not to make an appeal of authority, but Bill Nye has proven himself sufficiently that you can presume if you think Google or basic physics contradict what he says, you may be misunderstanding. Bill Nye oversimplifies the science because that's his job, but you probably shouldn't presume that you understand the subject better than he does.
