After Fredo told to Michael that he never met Ola before, Fredo later carelessly tells Geary that he had been to a nightclub with Ola. Michael overhears the conversation and realizes that Fredo betrayed him to Roth. In the beginning of the movie Fredo receives also a phone call of Ola. Vito Corleone is the original Godfather. Michael Corleone is his youngest son. Santino Corleone was his oldest son who was killed by the Barzini family in the first movie. Fredo Corleone is the middle brother who Michael has killed in the end. Connie Corleone is Vito's youngest child and only daughter. And Carmella Corleone is Vito's wife. Godfather 2 is considered the best sequel ever made (both a sequel and a prequel)! Fun fact : the little baby being baptized as Connie and Carlo’s son is actually a little girl, none other than Sofia Coppola, daughter of the director, Francis Ford Coppola. She went on to portray Michael and Kay’s daughter in Godfather III, and went on to be a very talented and respected director in her own right with a string of hits, The Virgin Suicides, Marie Antoinette, Lost In Translation, Somewhere, and The Beguiled. Also, Talia Shire, who played Connie, is Francis Ford Coppola's sister. While he wasn't involved in any of the Godfather movies, the actor Nicolas Cage (real name Nicolas Coppola) is the nephew of Francis Ford Coppola and Talia Shire.

You need to watch the movie again a couple more times. Pay attention to all of the details. A lot of your questions are answered in the movie if you pay close attention. This film is a comparison of Vito and Michael. Vito starts with nothing and when he dies he has a business and a family. Michael starts with everything and loses it all. Vito always treats people with respect whereas Michael does not. Part 3 is not as good as the first two but it is still worth a look. It removes all the romance and fantasy from the family story and exposes the corrupt truth.

Wow… I have to admit to being floored you didn’t realize that Michael had Fredo killed in the boat at the end. Fredo was praying in the boat, then they cut to Michael watching from the boathouse, and a gunshot rang out. After Michael confronted Fredo with Fredo’s betrayal, he told Al Neri that he didn’t want Fredo killed until his mother’s death. Once his mom died and Michael hugged Fredo, he gave Neri a nod that it was now time to execute Fredo. The scene at the end where you saw Fredo and said he had “lived to tell the tale,” was a flashback to his father’s birthday party. I mean, there were several characters in that scene who were already dead by the end of the first movie! Perhaps it had been too long since the first one, and that impacted your attention and engagement with the second one. 😢😮

The dudes at the club are the ones who called Fredo on the phone when they tried to get Michael. Fredo said he didn’t know them. But he didn’t know Michael was standing right behind him when he was talkin about the dude he said he didn’t know.

He knew. He was just drunk and didn't realise he was telling on himself.

One of the best movies. The music, the acting and the cinematography. The prequel and this one are referenced in a lot of movies and tv shows.

Mike knew it was Fredo because Fredo at first said he never met Johnny Ola, and then when they were in Cuba on New years, Fredo let it slip out that Johnny Ola took him to the place. So at that point, you see Mike look away. Because he knew....

Fredo actually didn't live, that last scene was a flashback to when both of Michael's brothers were still alive. Just a quick cut back to show that, from the beginning, Michael was a loner, and somehow different. It's pretty unspeakably bleak how that difference played out in his life, though.

That wasn't a riot, guys. That was the Cuban revolution.

That was when Fidel Castro took control over Cuba as a communist dictator.

Unbelievable, Rocky's "Yo Adrian" as spoiled sister Connie Corleone here in this movie.

De Niro and Brando were the first actors to win a academy award for the same part. It happened again with Joaquin Phoenix & Heath Ledger for Joker

I was obsessed with these movies and the book as a teenager. I definitely rewatched this one the most. The back and forth storytelling is great.

You all edited out the shooting in Kay and Michael's bedroom, which transitioned to the introduction of Vito as an adult. The whole first scene with Vito as a young man wasn't shown. Nor did you show the convo that led to Michael going to Cuba when he made Tom the temporary Don. All of these scenes were one after the other and you all skipped all of that. We were looking forward to your reaction to these parts....smh.

Not Connie. Kay. Connie is his sister. Kay is Michael's wife.

@@jeden75 Right...Kay. Thanks for the correction. I was multi-tasking when I said Connie..lol. Let me edit that now.

I was maybe 10 when my parents were watching this on TV. When Robert DeNiro/Vito Corleone gutted that guy like a fish in his chair I was so startled. I remember it clearly to this day. The acting in this movie is incredible.
