Private sales and buy orders will be welcome additions to the market system as well as full downloadable transaction logs (just a CSV file) that have all the details for the market folks who are looking for trends in a not in game spreadsheet.

Our clans left until they drop some worth while content. 1400 hours played myself alone, but the idea of grinding gold is not what I would call content. They need to implement worth while and impacting content and clearly defines group roles, more spells, skills and so on. Instead of just making what they have harder to work with for those of us that had remained loyal up to now. We may be back in the spring if they add any actual content.

100%. A market stall to sell stuff when there is a massive oversupply problem because to level skills people need to craft HUNDREDS of the same thing. Thus there are no drivers to need a market. This is a near zero content patch.

Exciting update, have been busy finding who/what is dropping the gold, collecting enough to start playing around with the market stalls. Figuring out what nearby people want/need or will buy is the most difficult part. Thanks again for a great update.

Have to be honest, they again featured the new building sets in this patch's promo and, again, not release it. It was not even featured in the "to come" part of the promo. Just mixed in with the stuff we actually got. People had high hopes to get some new content to hold us over till we can actually use our gold. Because of this you can't really base any assumption what's going to be released in a patch purely on visuals.

I wish they would get the gear sorted... I hate that everyone is basically the same "class". It is very difficult for me to be immersed in a medieval fantasy world without differences and specialties in combat/adventuring. When the game finally has "classes" (based on the gear or however they choose to handle it) that requires specialization and sacrifice, I will probably come back.

Very good point -- also they need to include crafting clothes that give worthwhile boosts to provide the carrot to get folks to wear them. I want to see people out in the home valleys having a reason to change out their gear.
@LatoTheMMOVeteran
@LatoTheMMOVeteran 24 күн бұрын
I don’t understand why it’s hard for you to immerse yourself in Pax Dei’s atmosphere. After all, in reality, no one has their class written on their forehead, just like no one is forbidden from learning whatever they want because some higher power dictates it. You are defined by what you can do, and your skills and equipment determine your 'class.' If you want to be a tank, you wear heavy armor, a one-handed weapon, and a shield. You also need to dedicate a lot of time to maxing out your blocking skills. If you want to be a healer, you equip yourself with light gear that enhances healing spells. If you want to be a hunter, aside from fighting with weapons, you learn archery and skinning. It’s simple, logical, and natural, unlike the rigid class systems of theme parks.
@dismaspickman773

@LatoTheMMOVeteran I have immersed myself in much of the game, but I do like character concepts that have a place and purpose and require choice. As example, if you wanted to make a traditional wizard style character, you could do that, but there is no reason not wear the heavies armors and heft the biggest weapons as you throw fireballs at bears, etc. Pax Dei doesn't need a rigid class system--true, but unless someone purposely pursues a hybrid style character (which should be a jack of all trades, master of none--not master of all) you should be strongly encouraged to pick a lane... and that could very well be done through gear (primarily). As obvious examples, cloth for +magic, leather for speed or crit, and plate for highest levels of protection. Maybe things have changed in the last few months, but when I was there... everyone was a tankmage, and swapping articles of clothing and gear in battles, which is pretty dumb as a mechanic, and certainly not immersive.
@LatoTheMMOVeteran
@LatoTheMMOVeteran 24 күн бұрын
@@dismaspickman773 I'm not sure if I fully understand your point. Are you suggesting that certain skills should enhance the power of others-like tailoring making spells stronger? To me, that seems illogical. The idea of exchanging gear during an expedition in a world where all magic is tied to items feels exactly as it should be, and I can't imagine it working any other way. Likewise, I don't understand why this would reduce immersion; in my opinion, it actually enhances it. As far as I recall, the developers have mentioned something about different schools of magic in the past, but I could be mistaken. If schools of magic were introduced, there would likely be two options: either students of a particular school could cast spells without needing a specific item, or their proficiency in that school would enhance the power of spells tied to it. I hope such a system will be implemented someday, but let’s not forget that Pax Dei is still in early access.
@dismaspickman773
@dismaspickman773 23 күн бұрын
@LatoTheMMOVeteran No, I do not think tailoring should enhance magic--at least not directly. What I am saying is that if items are used to create a class (you are what you wear and the weapons you choose sort of thing) then someone might choose tailoring as a profession in order to craft their own magic bonus gear. So, a person who wants to be a tank/heavy warrior type might choose metal armor crafting in the same way. These choices might be more convenient for them, but neither player would have to use those professions at all if they chose not too. Personally, I don't really care how the devs approach specialization, only that they allow for it in some way that is exclusive--where if you want to be the best caster, you would use the gear that would give you the best bonus (in this example, cloth). This will address the homogenized tankmage problem, where everyone is essentially the same unless a player decides to purposely gimp themselves for the sake of RP/theme. There is nothing immersive about a world where everyone is essentially the same--the best armor, best spells, best bow, etc. Variety of player choices and playstyles will make the game world feel lived in (ie, immersive).

I’d prefer if the amount of gold dropped by an enemy scaled with their level, because it feels a bit strange when a level 4 Inquisitor, who I can kill in three hits, drops the same amount of gold as a level 16 Inquisitor, who’s actually a challenge.

so the game is still not finished? they are charging full price for this game and the devs can't even be bothered to release "patches" on time. btw "patches" patch broken files, errors and bugs. The "patches" that they are releasing, are in fact just them adding details to an unfinished game! why is everyone ok paying for this quality? yes the game is a good concept. but its not a weeks worth of food good!

I don't think everyone is ready to pay for games in early access, but since you're asking, I'll explain why I bought early access to Pax Dei. I enjoy sandbox-style MMO games. Pax Dei is the first such project in many years, and I decided to support it in this way, hoping that the developers will deliver on their promises and Pax Dei will be my last game in life. For a one-time payment, I gained access to the game until the end of early access, with a declaration that the early access phase would last at least a year. I’m aware that the game has bugs and lacks many key systems. I also wish updates were introduced faster and in a more polished manner. However, this doesn’t stop me from having fun. Considering the time I’ve spent in the game, I believe it was money well spent. My only concern is that the developers might cave to players who want Pax Dei to become yet another theme park MMO. If another sandbox MMO were to come out now, I would probably take a break from Pax Dei. However, my current options are the unfinished Pax Dei, returning to a sandbox game I played for years, or a theme park MMO. From this group, I chose Pax Dei, and so far, I’m happy with that decision.
@adoptableplum
@adoptableplum 22 күн бұрын
@LatoTheMMOVeteran if you can justify buying an unfinished painting, and still enjoy looking at the "pencil lines" then more power to you. i expect more for my money. and devs that can't keep their promises are just simply overreaching. i hope you enjoy the game as you seem invested in it. hopefully i will join if they ever decide to call it finished.

@@adoptableplum I’ve explained why I bought Pax Dei, but I wouldn’t say I’m deeply invested in the game. I enjoy it, I play daily, and I plan to continue as long as the developers keep fulfilling their promises. If I stop enjoying Pax Dei, I’ll stop playing. Now, here’s what I tell all my friends when they ask whether they should buy Pax Dei: I always say-don’t buy it. That usually surprises them, and they ask why I’m saying not to buy it if I enjoy the game so much. I always add that the game is still in early access and requires a lot of work. If someone is unsure about buying it, that means they shouldn’t buy it. Otherwise, they’ll get discouraged, and no matter how great Pax Dei becomes at launch, they’ll likely never give it another chance. I also say that if someone loves sandbox games and is absolutely certain they won’t mind a small player base, a lack of many core features, bugs, and other unfinished elements, then they should consider it. Otherwise, I strongly advise against purchasing. If you read the comments under videos about Pax Dei, you’ll see plenty of negative opinions about the game. In my view, this happens because people bought it who never should have played an unfinished game-especially those unfamiliar with the sandbox genre.

I'm not sure tbh why you are so hyped.... first there is nothing to be hyped for since you cant use it gold for anything important since there is nothing important. I meant we don't have any reason to have that gold simple because there is nothing to spend on ? Then 2nd its just game mmo money it's nothing new to genre and by so exited because not talented devs added after so long time economy.. I'm not sure but this is clown festa.

Why do you say that gold can't be used for something important? Someone above mentioned buying their first steel pickaxe and an item they'd never seen before. That's a perfect example of using gold for something meaningful. And once buy orders can be created at the market stalls, there will be even more uses like this.
