The pair also discuss Ray Yeung’s position of Chairman at the Hong Kong Lesbian and Gay Film Festival, the longest running LGBT film festival in Asia.

I think that was a wonderful decision by Ray to make the family members sympathetic. It makes sense when he explains that people could simply say, “well, thats not me”.

love how Pearl can see through things. For example when talking about censorship, she mentions it seems censorship is only about politics. Gets you thinking. They wouldn’t ban an LGBTQ film, but they would ban other trivial things

Interesting analogy about Hong Kong’s monopoly on Asian cinema. Thinking about it, Korean and other Asian countries were very nascent at the time. But I also wonder how it went downhill, considering they were the industry pioneers in Asia
