I rode my 1995 CBR900RR today. Raw power, light weight, and wheelies on cue at nearly 30 years old. Twitchy front end is in part due to VERY good front brakes and a tendency to lift the rear wheel under hard braking. It's all analog, so there is no electronic babysitter to come save you if you powerslide into a wheelie and your reflexes can't keep up. That's why I love it. It is unapologetic, unrefined adrenaline in motorcycle form.

While growing up here in India, we could see most of these 90's and early 2000's bike in magazines & movies, I remember as a Kid.. seeing a Honda CBR Fireblade flyby one fine night, glimpsed only for few second was enough for me to fall in love with these mean machines. As a teenager we occasionally bumped into CBRs and Ninjas on fuel stations and were left in awe of those. The motorcycling scenario sky rocketed around 2010 and Hayabusa's were everywhere, even for a tier two city like ours. At 36 now, i eventually graduated myself to a 2019 Ninja 1000 starting from a 2005 Hero Honda CBZ 150.. but i still love these 90's era Japanese motorcycles.. their broader looks as well as their graphic kits were so vibrant and appealing compared to what we have these days. But I also reckon as it happens with almost everything around, the eras will repeat again after few years and we will have such boarder faired bikes once again in future, and they will come out of Chinese and Japanese manufacturers again.. I think we already have glimpse of that in CFMoto 500SR Voom ! Oh and thank you for making this video ! It will be forever saved in my watch later list.

CBR-600, 600 hurricane, cramed a 900 between the rails, increased to 929 (oiling system built to withstand riding on one wheel forever), increased to 954, increased to 1000, one off year of 2007. I've had that 07 one off since 2012. My finances never allowed me to get the 600 in high school. But my dream never died. I watched the trend. The 5 coffee cans stacked together exhaust hanging off one side of bike making it visually asymmetrical. Like bell bottoms of the 70 being reintroduced today, with huge chunk of junk hanging off one side, today's bikes suck. Back when wheelie control, traction control, ABS, were between the ears, and not under the seat.

As I didn't start riding till about ten years ago I used to wonder what they were getting so excited about. Had another FZR400 from 92 but riding position, handling and overall were much improved on the 95 model. Never rode the 1000cc FZR but definitely great motorcycle. Yamaha machinery is still the greatest imo 👌

I love this! I know you mention KMs in the stills that showcase the bike's details, but maybe mention the KMs in your voice overs too. That could help these videos get more international audiences. Possibly improving your KZbin algorithms and all that. You got a new fan in me, nonetheless.

@Troubleshooter-2.0Ай бұрын
My bikes from that era are sports touring models. The Gen 1 Bandit 1200 is my favorite hands down. The RF900RV is a pretty sweet commuter. They both elicit speeds greater than posted limits every ride. 90s era bikes are so raw. Everything you need and nothing you don't. Modern bikes are generally filled with distractions from the experience. I even like the analog guages. It's hard to read the RF speedo at any speed. You know when it's fast, and that's all you need to know.

1:15 NSR400R. Unmistakeable. I had an original 'blade in red/white/blue. I landed it wrong once after lifting the front over a rise and it went into a massive tank slapper. Was a lot of fun! Just wring it's neck and you get used to it's twitchiness! Wish I still had it. I have a super stable 'busa now, absolutely mental bike but it keeps it's composure a lot better at high speeds.

I was fortunate to have grown up in the golden ers of sport bikes . It was my teenage years and dad owned a motorcycle shop and I was BLESSED to have riden everyone of those bikes. ❤ miss those days.. that cbr900rr was it. It would corner hard and walk the chain coming out the turn with just a twist if the wick. They were all monsters. The 97 R1 oh my goodness it was a flicker. I rode that beast literally everywhere on the rear tire. Won wheelie contest at dragstrip with it and not to mention I hit I-95 South one day twisted the wick stood up on pegs and walked the chain on that beast at 130-140 Mph ( friend in 02 SS Camero COULDNT KEEP UP they were filming it) for 14 miles. Oh I loved that R1. Yes all those bikes from that era were beast from the 600's to the BUSA.. THAT WAS ALSO MY GOLDEN ERA.

I been in the motorcycle industry since 1990 when I was 17 years old and got my start at K&N Motorcycles a multi line metric dealer and as bottom guy in the service dept. my job was to clean the shop then uncrate and setup new bikes so I put the first mile on hundreds and hundreds of the bikes on this list. I don't think about it much until I see a video like this and it takes me back. Not a Honda guy at all but the bike that sticks out to me is the CBR900RR. 900 cc's with the weight of the 600. There was allot of talk about a possible steering defect at first but it seems it was just light and powerful and if the front wheel is barley contacting the ground under acceleration the bars can wiggle a bit.

Great video. I remember each one of these bikes and all the excitement around each one. I would however also include the 1980's in the "Golden Era". That's actually when all this really started. It was also the beginning of the "Golden Era" of motorcycle racing itself. The 1980's and 90's were a very special time in motorcycles and motorcycle racing. If you weren't there, well then sorry you missed it. Nothing since really comes close.

I'm glad you liked my video! I actually did have a video similar to this one that was about the Japanese sport bikes of the 80's that started this all. Funnily enough, I called that one a Golden Era as well. Unfortunately it got deleted from KZbin because someone complained about copyright issues... Sad because I gave everyone credit for their work plus I think it's obvious I'm not claiming the video clips to be my own. A lot of people really liked that video. It's a shame the whole video was deleted because someone got upset about a few short clips within it. ):
@scottsmith4912 ай бұрын
@@da_garage383 I would have loved to see the earlier video that was deleted. You can't imagine how much excitement was generated when bikes like the original GSX-R were first released in the U.S. And the Honda "Interceptor" or the "FZ" 750 .

About what you say at 14:59, Your issue with the algorithm is that your video is like 97% cuts from other videos and only a few dozen seconds are actually filmed by you, I understand you couldn't go back in time and film bikes in the 90s, but you can for example do a picture in picture format or something like that, also get rid of that copyright disclaimer at the beginning, it does nothing legally and it just makes you look unprofessional. The algorithm looks at bits of the video without actually watching the video like a human would, so a video with 97% remixed content and that copyright disclaimer makes your video equal to all the other automated Indian spam videos, even tho it's really not. Don't take it negatively, it was a great video I watched till the end and liked, just trying to help you understand the behind the scenes mechanisms here, as I believe you deserve more success for the quality work you are putting in. And also, keep going, no one reached millions of subscribers overnight :)

Never had one problem with that or any of the bikes I owned. After that I got a Honda 94 CBR 1000F. It was red white and black. All were great bikes. Super reliable and plenty of power for me. Always wanted a Honda Blackbird but never got one. One of my all time favorites. I liked other makes and models like the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Yamaha FJ 1200, but always liked the Honda s the best.

I still own 96 cbr 900 sc33. I have 5 bikes, but 3 different types. Two of it are 90s sport bikes.When I have an idea to swap it for something else and try some newer machines it always go bad for new one. Bikes after 2005 doesn`t have this type of connection with driver. Maybe I coudl run faster on a new bike because it has tc or abs but it doesn`t have that something that makes me smile. Engine that is running with carburetors gives that power much more lively, it is not smooth and I will love it for ever :). New bikes doesn`t have it, maybe it is because of fumes emission control. Nice video.

This was an amazing video. Sadly I only have a 1999 Aprilia RS50, but that thing is drop dead gorgeous. That RS250 will be mine someday. 😂 Maybe we will get a new golden era (slim chance) but two-strokes surely will not be made for the road ever again. Hopefully we can at least enjoy those bikes for years to come, whilst fearing it will not even be legal anymore in our lifetime. I'm from the 90's so sadly I haven't experienced this era really, but those are some beautiful bikes!
@da_garage383Ай бұрын
@@bramvermaat1453 As long as you own a bike that you love, that's all that matters! Right, I don't know if there will be a "golden era" again. I actually like the current era but that’s only because I’ve only been riding for a few years. But I recognize all the great eras before, and each has a specialness to it. I think people fall into this nostalgia trap where they feel the need to crap on the current and new bikes because they aren’t like the old ones. Things like TC, ABS and TFTs people hate because they’re new. But the classics were also crapped on by people back then as well for being different and introducing new features. Times change and bikes change. I appreciate the current era of bikes because we are at the pinnacle (so far) of performance. Never before have we seen 200hp screaming inline 4s or roaring V4s all over the place, as well middleweight triples and twins that punch way above their weight. I just love these machines.
