Hi Greetings from France 🥰🌹. I have had mine since 1987. I assisted Mr. LUTTERLOH,'s demo every year at a Craft Show in Paris, never got bored. Mr. LUTTERLOH smiles at all the visitors when he sees the amazement in their faces. From that miniature design and the MAGIC RULER it's unbelievable how the calculations were made. But the results are incredible. I also purchased the buttonhole marker, this is also helpful. When I need information I call him, he is so polite and always ready to advise. Have a great sunny weekend. At 11.40 it's 35°C already. 💖💐

I heard about this a week ago and today I was sorting out my father's sewing tools since he had a stroke a year ago and can no longer sew. He made us bath robes, pants and shirts. He was born the same year as the Golden Rule system. Surprise! I found the Golden rule tools in a drawer! It was as if I had found a big jar of candy. I can hardly wait to start making my patterns. Thank you so much for the lesson.

When I was teaching a class on making clothing, I came across the idea of using "easy liner select grip shelf liner". I cut it to size of the pattern. This allowed me to use just a couple of pins because it gripped the material so it didn't move, and I was able to use a magic marker to make all notes right in the shelf liner. After class, I can just roll up the shelf liner and store, I've got some that are over five years old. Hope this helps.

My cousin not having the crafting bug herself asked me to come and help her sort through her mother’s many crafting items. Among them what’s this system! After many hours of sorting and research I completed my task and asked my cousin if she would sell me some of the items. “The golden rule” is also why the “measurements” of a women are included in beauty pageants. It actually is the scientific method of judging physical traits. I learned about this also while taking courses in sewing/fashion. For my final exam, I had to make a garment for someone and include how that person’s measurements differed from the golden rule and the pattern chosen and how much I had to alter the pattern to fit. It is very fascinating!

As someone who has used the Lutterloh system for many years, I thought your tutorial was the best one I've seen. Well done. The golden rule of proportion is the "ideal" and many of us will still need to adjust the pattern for our body.

I agree, this system does not reduce the need to make personal adjustments. I have not made clothing for many years, but I am sure that even with this system I would have to increase the length to the waistline, and then lower the bust darts.

@@mangohogplumsummertime7191 - I purchased mine from the website (above), and it was on sale for $150.00..(the rulers, patterns, tape measurer, marker included). It sounds expensive, however, I made my first top and short set, and I couldn't believe how nice the fit was. The first dress I tried, just didn't work out so the system is now just gathering dust and the dress/fabric in a bag in a drawer somewhere! Expensive dust. The shopping channel I bought it from, didn't really make it clear that you do need some garment construction experience as there are no sewing instructions. I probably went wrong on the measuring. I was hoping for a perfect finish straight out of the box and just ended up being disappointed. I should really give it another go, I tried pattern 236 from the original bundle.
