This was written 121 years ago. It’s appalling and surprising how all this still applies to black folks today. We really need healing from slavery, it still has a HUGE effect on who we are as a people. This was a very interesting read though. Extremely insightful

How are you surprised. Just because you close your eyes doesn’t mean things go away. My grandparents were share croppers a and I’m not even 50. Their parents were slaves! Only white peoples and those who subscribe to whiteness say get over it , like it was a long time ago. We are barely 2 full generations out of slavery! If you ask me , we are doing great!!! What we need is to stop self pity and victim hood. WE ARE VICTORIOUS. We won the civil war and the civil rights movement. We are doing well! Slavery was not that long ago!

@@officialknightowlz Get over it! You can't keep living in the past and expect to be successful! Use the past as motivation, not as a crutch! Do you think anybody cares how you feel about the past when they are trying to live? No! We are not the only race to have horrors happen to us, but we are the only ones constantly crying to be taken care of by taxpayers who had no skin in the nasty era of slavery which still continues in many parts of the world.

I realized at a young age that we are afflicted with everything stated in this video and created a culture around it. One suggestion…well maybe more than one…quietly start teaching “everyone” who is a child and afflicted how to read and write. Then, in as non biased of a way as we can, inundate them with the historical information taught by this brother. Then focus on an industry and take it over.

@@coon_dalini7479 this society put value on a woman but not a man virginity. This leads to rape and the treating of women as property and promiscuity of men. Enslavement of our ancestors. Show use the value of human life. That it’s more than acceptable. To kill someone for a snicker or to kick out a family. Because they late on rent. For the landlord to buy more things, shows this as well. The belief of good and bad or evil and devils. Makes it easy for you to dehumanize people. Make it impossible for you to see yourself in their shoes. Which is crazy for us to do. Because we’re black and we all in the same position. Regardless of what it may look like. And like this guy, it’ll make you feel pointless to try to save them. Morals are universal or the believe we born with them. Is the root of the lack of compassion. Because you judge them accordingly to your belief. That we’re all born with morals. So we all know right from wrong. But this is not true,we are not born with morals. And a thing that most call sin is just human nature. We are a blank canvas and only working off of our natural instincts. Until we are reared by our parents and taught what society declares right or wrong. This is why you have people living many different ways. We have to turn away from all these theologies. We need to show compassion to our people. Basically put our self in their shoes. And accept them as they come. And help the ones that’s willing to be helped. Also always leave the door open for the ones that don’t. Because you understand, it’s gonna take time to come around and break the chains that they placed on us. We are not the only people that’s lost. All world society is based on these principles. We are just the Canary in the cave.
