You should by a dog “tile” tracker for his collar. Love it. If the animal gets out you can find within 25 feet on your phone. They are super affordable too.

So glad you found Romeo. Unfortunately July 4th is known to be the day when the most dogs get lost. They get so panicked they can really hurt themselves trying to get away from the noise. Maybe next year you can put him in the quietest room of the house. A radio playing in the room will sometimes help to drown out the noise. Will pray for your friend's son to have a speedy recovery. Last but not least, Misty have you ever thought about canning your energy? I'm amazed at all you do. I'll take at least a dozen cans please 😂. God bless you.

I am so glad that you found Romeo. He's really smart to have figured out how to get out of the kennel. I love the way that you share the good and the bad. That is life. Your farm is a lovely place, and I love all that you to do to be sustainable and provide for your family and animals. People need to see that yes, it is a good life, but it doesn't mean that there aren't bad things that can and do happen. I love all of the family togetherness as it is something that is lacking today. I remember life being quite different when I was a youngster...it was more like the way you live. It was healthy for kids because they got outside and got plenty of exercise and fresh air. What you are providing for your family is worth more than anything else that you could give them. I am so thankful for the life our parents gave us. We were close to all of our family and spent a lot of time with cousins. That is important. That room is exactly what you needed, and I am sure you will get everything that you planned to do completed before too long. One thing that is very important that we are seeing is that you have to learn to be flexible. Sometimes other things have to take precedence over the things we most want to do. I look forward to seeing it just the way you have envisioned it...and all the steps in between, too! God bless you all, and I am so glad that you have gotten rain. We need it, but we've only gotten a tiny bit in the last few weeks. It was misting earlier here, and I was so thankful for even that. Our garden needs it. We can water, and do, but I know that the rain is more nourishing than our county water.

Misty, I hope you see this because I may have a solution about the floor!!! First let me say I am so glad you found Romeo! So many dogs and cats are terrified of fireworks. I pray for the young boys health. No a ruptured appendix is not good. Now Misty I had a thought while you were talking about the shelves and wanting to finish the floor but couldn't. Call me crazy but How about you go ahead and paint the floor right under the shelving. That way you can go ahead and move everything in order to get organized and rotated. Then when things calm down a bit and the traffic in that room stops you can go back and paint the rest of the room. There won't be any foot traffic right under the shelving so it should still look perfect when you can get around to painting the floor. I would paint right under the shelves and go out a little further because of the storage of the buckets on the floor under the shelves. I understand you wanting to do things in an organized fashion. I'm the same way. Call it what you want. Organized and/or a little OCD 😂 Anyway I hope you consider my suggestion. I believe it would make you feel better to do it that way. I know it would for me and I would feel like at least the critical part of the room is finished. Calms your nerves! I've been wanting to try water glassing eggs but don't have a clue where to get the big jars with big openings! I've looked and the opening is always small. I noticed yours looked like big pickle jars. Industrial size. Can you recommend a place I can get a jar or two? Even a half gallon jar would work I think. I believe yours are a gallon. Hello Misty, you wanted to know what I planted with my squash and zucchini plants well two years ago I went to the Okie Expo and I sat and listened to you about companion planting. Last years squash crops were a flop. This year I sat and researched and this is what I did. I planted bush beans, marigolds, nasturtium (which the birds attacked), spicy basil,and finally rosemary. This is the first bed. The second bed I planted bush beans and collards. The collards got attacked by white moths (worms). Plus I did second planting. The second plants are young and healthy. The second bed looks tired. The first bed is still healthy and strong. I have not seen any signs of squash bugs but I did see them at the beginning of the season but they did not land here

Misty, I have total pantry envy! Your pantry truly is a prepper's dream. I live in a mobile home so I have to get very creative when it comes to food storage. I definitely will be working on trying to do more once I get past dealing with my mother's estate. I may not get all of the canning done that I want to do, but I'm going to try to kick things into gear once I am back in Michigan. Florida is a great place to visit, but it only has two seasons, Summer and Fall compared to mine. I have no idea how the South manages to survive this heat. I guess we all have challenges where we live, whether it is weather, creepy crawlies, or the cost of living. Luckily, I grew up with a depression era mother, who taught me some of the old ways, which created my love of being somewhat frugal. I can't get over how organized you are and you have more energy than the Eveready Bunny. You and Colby are truly amazing role models for your kids, and an inspiration to all of us out here in the 'wilderness.' Sending you all lots of love. ❤

My daughter and son in law went out of town for the 4th of July. They left their dog with me, so I was doggie sitting my grandpup. On the 4th my grandpup scared me. I had given her some calming chews but it didn't do anything for her. She was trembling, panting really hard and her little heart was pounding so hard I thought it was going to pop out of her chest. We quit using laundry detergent a few months ago. I found a site that shows vinegar as a detergent. Much less expensive, eco friendly, unlike manufactured detergents. You might want to invest in a pet finder type air tag, if he continues to escape. We have one for our great mouser cat, because she went missing for over a week and we think someone accidentally locked her in their storage bldg, because when she did come home she was very thin.

I don't know much about livestock dogs but I thought they were there to protect. At night is were I thought you would want them out. If they can't be out when you are how can they protect your animals. I just know what I see from others I watch. Maybe your case is different. Thanks. You are a hard worker love that in your family. Most animals don't think fireworks it's a night to definitely try to put animals up

Great Pyrenees are great dogs for providing protection- border collies not so much - they are made to work the farm more than “protecting it” Hope that helps
