What a Blessing. I just am as amazed at God's gifts of food for us, our animals and I try to use a garden and a human life as examples for the ones who want or consider the abortions, You can't see the actual """"""seed - . egg""""" that God has planted in a woman but Nurture your body and the body nurtures a baby . Missy maybe you can word it better but I am sure you understand what I am saying , I have tried to open many folks eyes and I told them go to the Lord in Prayer as He sees and knows our hearts all the time, From the creation of life is so amazing to me and how you can plant a little tiny seed which can produce so much food , A garden to me is so exciting I am like a child in a candy shop . Watching a humans belly grow in each stage of pregnancy amazes me, I loved carrying my children and I was put on bed rest at 5 months, Our son was soon to turn 6 and his Daddy had him watch me like a hawk. He told him I could go to the bathroom and that is it as everything I need was prepared for the day and my son would get it for me, OH my son scolded me and told his Daddy as soon as he walked through the door """"""Mommy went to the refrigerator, LOL So even children get excited over a garden growing , appreciates life and yes our children grew up excited about puppies being born . GOD is AMMAZING !!!!!!!!! Just think of how the people devastated in the hurricane would appreciate a sweet potato, When I was about 6 our single Mother cooked cabbage and we turned our nose up . She apologized and said well if you don't eat it , you'll will go to bed hungry . We pouted until we were really hungry and we love cabbage to this day, . I have a hard time growing RHUBARB . You & Colby have a beautiful Family .❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

You said you had the vines or leaves put away. How do you do them? Also, how do you cook your sweet potatoes? I usually just bake mine, even though I love them candied. But being diabetic. I can't have all that brown sugar.

Pick the leaves - dry them - grind them into power - store in a glas jar in a dark room - add to smoothies We also pan sear (cut into small cubes) them in lard with salt and pepper and green onion

One thing I miss not living in the south is the longer growing season. Here in Colorado one has four months and some change and even that is accompanied by much prayer hail doesn’t wipe the garden out. I agree with you though, free food in whatever quantity is da bomb!

We invested in a freeze drier a few years ago and freeze dry a lot of food. Sweet potatoes are easy to freeze dry. They make a great crunchy snack and also do great in different dishes once rehydrated again. We freeze dry zucchini also and that makes a great crunchy snack also. If you are interested in which brand of freeze drier we bought let me know and I will be happy to give you the information. We have also freeze dried eggs, green bell peppers, carrots and we want to do more freeze drying yet this fall of onions, hot peppers and milk.

Cool idea. Put your 5 gallon buckets on a plant stand with wheels. Makes pulling out and shuffling easier. Keeps 2 inches off the ground. My Home Depot is out - off season. But I’ll definitely be getting a few.
