This movie is an improvement over 3. But not on par with 1 and 2. I did see the film and I give it a 9/10, might bump it down to 8 if I rewatch it. Overall a good film

I think the biggest problem was that it was too short. They wanted to squeeze many many things togwther, but only in 1.5 hours?

Something I did wish the film did was have the three daughters have more agency in the movie. Like they could’ve had some stuff about Margo struggling to fit into her new school and maybe her and Poppy forming a friendship or something Maybe have something about Anges struggling with being in Edith’s shadow and trying to become her own person. Maybe have something about her standing up to the karate instructor and beating him in a fight or something

Honestly after this movie(even though it's not happening now since a third minions movie got announced) for the girls' lack of screentime and relevance. I honestly think that they deserve their own spin off and prequel film to the first movie where it can show how they became orphans and a plot similar to the Powerpuff girls movie. Where after their parents die and they get sent to the same orphanage from the first movie for the first time, they can try to fit in and form friendships with all the other kids and it can of course show us them doing their cookie sales as shown in the first movie and during the cookie sales we can have them encounter the villain(who will be disguised a first) while they are holding their prized invention in their hands that happens to look similar to Agnes's stuffed unicorn, and Agnes can pick up the invention mistaking it for her toy. And later on in the film she can accidentally activate it causing it to go on a rampage on the city and destroying things in which everyone will blame the girls for, causing them to run away from the orphanage and run into the villain again on the streets but this time the villain can earn the girls' trust by manipulating them into helping him build another weapon to destroy the world. And later on as they find out about the weapon, they'll save the city and of course will become respected by everyone. And the end can show a reanimated version of the girls getting ready to get adopted by Gru in which will lead up to the events to the first movie.

The villain's motivation and reason for hating Gru is super petty in my opinion. Sure anyone can be pissed off if someone else steals something they were gonna do, but letting this be a lifelong grudge... Like it's only Gru he hates, and Gru's whole family gets in involved.

Actually, Le Mal only went on the offensive after Gru got him arrested at the AVL, humiliating him for a SECOND time. No villain would let that slide. Better than the Chameleon's bullshit motivation.

@@BZJacobs You are 100% right about it being better than the fucking Chameleon. After giving it more thought, Le Mal did have a legitimate reason to hate Gru and want revenge. The Chameleon's motivations make no sense because Mantis and Viper, heck a chicken knows Kung Fu and they are smaller than the Chameleon
