Very nice, wich System and food you use?
@NBurgReef2 ай бұрын
@@tomg5405 system, like moonshiners? I guess the closest thing to a method is the Berlin method - live rock, protein skimmer and water changes. 2-part and kalkwasser for alk/Ca replenishment. I stopped coral feeding as it was causing excessive hydroid growth… so just fish poop.

@@NBurgReef thanks, what you mean by hydroid growth?
@NBurgReef2 ай бұрын
@@tomg5405 branching hydroids grow on the rocks and are a mild pest which can bother Zoas

Great information! Thank you. Wondering what you do to intervene when your corals won't grow? Do you "stab" the corals to induce new growth?
@NBurgReef5 ай бұрын
I have done the stabbing method before and it works for some but not for others. I have also cut branch tips which is hit or miss. You can try it as long as the coral seems healthy. If its not growing because it is unhealthy, this method will not work and may even kill your coral faster.

I really liked your tank it looks really clean ,That looks awesome; if you dont mind asking how many times have you dipped your corals since they were smaller? Or when you had the stn and dipped it what was your alkalinity? Thank you for showing us your video
@NBurgReef8 ай бұрын
I dip when I get them and usually get rid of the plug. The Oregon tort and pink passion were dipped in furan 2 when they were stning - 1 or 2 timesfor 10 mins. Unless I am trying to save a coral, 1 dip in potassium chloride Alk is always 8

Awesome growth!! What are you dosing?
@NBurgReef8 ай бұрын
Nothing in the way of trace elements or other bottles of stuff. ESV B-ionic 2 part and Kalkwasser at night. Other than that small amount of sodium nitrate to prevent bottoming out and a lot of food. Weekly changes seems to be enough.
@philk90038 ай бұрын
@@NBurgReef Excellent, thank you. I'm at the point now where I'm over thinking my dosing, so it's nice to see your awesome results with a much more simple method.

@@philk9003 I think water changes and not trying something new every month is key, along with strong flow and feeding enough foods

I just purchased two mp40s because I liked how clean yours looked but curious how you got them to magnetize to each other. If I turn them up at all they fall off. I also have a inovative marine tank with 3/4 inch glass.
@NBurgReef8 ай бұрын
I have only the thin rubber spacer on the dry side which helps it from sliding, also, I used zip ties and those square stick-on zip tie mounts to make a saddle to keep the dry side on. I think I cover it in a video, just not sure which! They work fine this way but will fall off without the makeshift mount to keep the dry side in place. I also don’t run mine past 50-60%
@YODAMOBBIN8 ай бұрын
That's exactly what i did, and as you mentioned, I ensured not to exceed 60%. There was a time when I contemplated quitting these and opting for MP60s.

What is your opinion on brightest red acro? And which one looks good under blue. I always thought CB Maleficent is the most striking then I saw your flamethrower table @NBurgReef
@NBurgReef2 ай бұрын
@@lvlichaelly I don’t have an opinion as I have not seen lots of different reds in person, I only know what I have and most ‘reds’ are either purplish or pinkish. The flamethrower is pretty red but I’m sure there are fancier ones out there too. I don’t see a or of other’s tanks in person be never seen an acro as red as some LPS.
