​@@Colingueisen Shaun would have been blamed if the baby's death was preventable. However, as said in the scene, all the medication they needed was expired, and Shaun's solution was sort of a hail Mary to try to save the baby. In the end, the baby was going to die with or without intervention.

Like they say money talks and BS walks, which led to Salem being in charge of a hospital with no medical experience, no medical background, and no medical degree, which led to a lot of bad decision making, that led to the hospital's medication inventory and backups been expired, Salem is just a tyrant that's more interested in making money but spending as little money as possible, but rather than accepting responsibility and accountability for her actions and admitting that her policies are a failure, Salem rather cover up all of her faults and blame everything on her staff, which will eventually lead to Salem's demise and the downfall of the hospital.

There are a lot of Bureaucrats in charge of Hospitals, though in real life there are also a shit ton of checks & balances & MASSIVE Regulatory Bodies that keep those Bureaucrats in check. If they had an inspection that day & an Inspector found those Expired Meds with no reason why they are still on the Pharmacy Shelves, no amount of cost cutting could save them from the fine & litigation coming their way.

And from what I've seen, I believe Salen is just another Karen looking for a job just to fill her personal pockets. Which is why I'll be so glad when they finally give Salen a taste of her own medicine and restore some sensible leadership to the hospital.

Tony was so rich that he would actually donate money out of his own pocket so that the hospital could afford the equipment and medicine instead of having to cut the budget. Remember he gave out money to the science students listening to his lecture in civil war and posthumously donated a large sum of money to various charities helping those recovering from the Blip in spiderman 2

@@frankfarmer7706 If you bothered to watch the first episode of the season you would know her character is a medical doctor. This is what happens when doctors become hospital administrators. And nurses are the worst of the bunch. Nurses say they care about patients but are the first to go on strike for money. Which just shows me they don't care about patients, they only care about money. That is why in my state it's illegal for Nurses to go on strike.

@@michaelfowler2603 the first episode what season are you referring to, last time I checked Salem posed as a fake patient, that's definitely a bad introduction and a huge red flag, which should have told everyone that she's either a manipulator or a tyrant, throughout the episodes so far she's only interested in making a lot of money but spending very little money as possible, if I would ever end up in a hospital with that type of reputation, I will do everything in my power to get transfer to different hospital, or die mysteriously from expired medication.

If a hospital can't provide medication and proper equipment. It should shut down or the one running it be replaced and never run an establishment like that again. Look what happened if the hospital was not managed well. The hospital itself in the brink of bankruptcy. Salen is being responsible, confront the mom, fire the pharmacists and compensate 200k. At least she was sorry and trying to fix things. She was not a doctor. I can't hate her 100%. The doctors like to put blame on someone new because they are not BUSINESSMAN. The doctors didn't understand business and salene didn't understand medical and she approved and she was sorry and promise won't happen again. The doctors just didn't like her and try to get rid of her from the get go.

Well, I think it's because last season it was the mother's choice to abort her baby. This one, from the episode, the mother wanted to keep her baby. And the baby died because of expired meds. So maybe that's it.
