As someone who has PTSD, I’m glad they’ve shown it also through someone who hasn’t been in combat. Those in medicine are extremely susceptible to it. Suffering from PTSD for me has been like trying to erase something written in ink. I’ve learned through the quote, “Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it.” to be uplifting in hoping this would never happen to me again. Over time from suffering from PTSD I learned that while it is impossible to rewrite history as it is something written in ink, it is possible to grow from the pain and scars inflicted from your traumas. While the trauma from May 17, 2015 is not forgotten, I’ve grown and come a long way since that day.

so happy for you, anthony. as someone who has ptsd as well, I know the feeling of being afraid that we would never escape that feeling of pain and running from it. i salute the writers for adding this to the show and bringing such a real aspect of life into the show for awareness. as you said, the trauma can never be erased but we'll get through it.

In a sense when Claire notices that something isn't quite right with Lim It reminds her what she went through last year when she lost her mother and she in a way recognizes the signs yet Lim is pushing her away because she is in denial it only gets worse if you deny it I remember when I was in Middle school something traumatic happened at the end of my last year after that event it changed me and I try not to think about it or relieve it you can only move forward not look back!

I have ptsd too and im so glad i started watching this show again (I stopped watching after the death of Melendez) especially after Browne and Lim revealed that they have ptsd and honestly speaking, when you speak up about something you've been dealing with, all the stress that is build in your life have just been release which is good because it helps you deal with ptsd and makes mental health easier to cope with...

My childhood trauma and PTSD were under the surface for many years and then the pandemic triggered far worse episodes for me (lack of safety as a child has reverberations when most people aren’t acting safely, ie not wearing masks and not social distancing). I thought it was all under control but nope. I’ve been able to cope and I hope to recover more but it’s shaken me. Sometimes I wish I could ablate my amygdala.

I get the trauma, but Lim's behavior is just...uncalled for and not professional. If it's that bad then she needs to seek help, because having outburst on her colleagues doesn't help anything, and judging by the end of the episode she's gonna need it.
@featherstream1954 жыл бұрын
I think...and this is just my opinion so feel free to disagree, but when you’re in so much pain, I don’t think you’ll care if it’s “professional” or not. Audrey is scared, confused, hurting, and angry all at the same time. Maybe, knowing her personality, she feels ashamed of herself for feeling this way. She’s used to being strong for everyone and leading the hospital. She’s never allowed herself to be vulnerable. And now, dealing with pain like this, she’s terrified. I think she kinda feels like “I can’t be like this.” She can “know” that she’s not being professional, but in the moment she just can’t control herself. Anger, fear, and grief can make people lash out easily.

Well, technically, talking about his wife's birthday gift to his boss was arguably pretty unprofessional of Shaun... But he did not deserve how she spoke to him. Her behavior towards him was just as unprofessional as his behavior towards her. But Dr. Lim's behavior is explained by her PTSD. And Shaun, while he is autistic, can read the room when he needs to, which is why he left without arguing. It also goes back to how he sometimes melts down on other people, which is why he understood that he simply needs to leave the entire situation (by leaving Dr. Lim's office).

I swear Shaun was written in the later episodes just to be useful when necessary to the plot.......other than that to annoy the neuro typical characters (ableist.....ableist.....*sigh*)

Give Lim Melendez. Anyway, apart from being ex boyfriend, he used to be her bestfriend too. Geez...what's wrong with the writers? Why suddenly only Claire who came out to surface, grieving about Melendez, taken care by him. Doesn't make any sense. Lim needs someone equal to her and it's Melendez. She didn't even mention about Melendez's death, as if he meant nothing to her. 🤨😔
@a1i8os184 жыл бұрын
EXACTLY. Lim is supposed to have known Melendez since or before they were a first year at a hospital. Claire only knew Melendez for 3 years. So if Claire after only three years literally saw the ghost of Melendez, then why in the world hasn’t lim seen even a glimpse of him. I mean they easily could have made her ptsd about seeing her friend / ex boyfriend die. But instead they made it abt some other thing. it would have incorporated Melendez which is the only thing that the fans want to come out of this show rn. The writers are ridiculous. I won’t be surprised if this show doesn’t get a 5th season bc of how much the ratings have dropped, all bc of Melendez’s death.
