thank you for the upload SPOILERS... just found myself asking why over and over, why did she kiss him? why did he kill the neighbours? why did he pay someone to talk to the cop? why didn't she tell the police what was happening? why the hell did he make her eat some egg? why was this book written? WHY WHY?

@@davidhorn6008 Inflections, nuances, (minor) breathes, mouth clicks, mixture of pacing. Basically a human touch. You could do the same with AI but it's so much effort to make it natural. I'm a VO and I've done a few audiobooks before.

Amen to that! I literally can't focus when AI is narrator. I hate it and never get further than a paragraph before I know. "They" are getting better than when first became a thing. But for me it's far too obvious and so disappointing if it's a book I really want to hear. Thankfully most libraries carry audiobooks narrated by humans.

Started listening to this book yesterday. Saw some of the comments but thought I'd go ahead and keep listening. Got about 2.5 hours in/chapter 24. Told my husband I started a new book. He asked what it's about. All I could think to say was "a murderer" because honestly, there hasn't been much a plot. Not even by 24 chapters in. But I'm still gonna finish 😂 EDIT: so I finished. It's not the worst book out there, but it is pretty dull and repetitive I feel.

This would have been better as a psychological thriller where SHEs are he killer and has been all along. The deer having been her snapping point with all the blood. Tate never existed, the calls the text, all in her head. The ending egg meal- all her speaking to herself. She kills the “killer” but when the cops storm in it’s just her and there is just one glass of wine and one plate of eggs on the table … like seriously…

I should have read the comments first. Way too long, the beginning is great, a murderer opens the door and lets her live, but then it just goes on and on, unbelievable that she wouldn't tell the police what's going on, and that he didn't get her in the end. As for risking everything for a husband that treats her poorly and has been cheating on her, well it makes the main character seem weak and stupid.
