@faith grace How is the moral status of someone changed by the torture of another? How are the guilty redeemed by the murder of an innocent? How is guilt transferable? It is the height of absurdity and indecency. Scapegoat theology... it's about as sick and twisted an idea ever to poison the mind of man. That's Christianity for you.
@socksumi4 жыл бұрын
@faith grace Stupid analogy that only increases my disgust. Wrong on so many levels no the least of which is you're both lying to your parents. Also who says whipping anyone is appropriate? Why not bring that into out justice system? If a man commits murder lets send the wrong man to jail for life or execute the wrong person. The premise being that it doesn't matter who gets punished as long as someone gets punished. That is fucked beyond reason. Why would a god be satisfied if the wrong person is punished? Guilt is not transferable. Your religion is vile... and contemptible.

@waterside - We were dead once, but when we placed our faith in Jesus Christ we were made alive. And we shall live forevermore with Jesus Christ in Heaven. As one poster puts it. For by GRACE are ye saved through FAITH and that NOT of YOURSELVES it is the GIFT OF GOD. NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast. What you people don't understand is that Salvation is a gift and not a Reward. You are treating Salvation as a Reward as something that you deserve. And we (including me) don't deserve. Because we all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God Romans 3:23. There is nothing that we can do that will be 'good enough' to get us into Heaven. Going to Heaven is not about what we do for Jesus, it's about what Jesus has done for us!

@@cypherpunk12 but the thing is, i deserve to go the Hell. I’ve broken God’s laws, and the punishment for that is Hell. The wonderful thing is, God knew that I couldn’t live the sinless life necessary to go to Heaven, so He came down to earth in the form of a man, lived the sinless life I couldn’t, and sacrificed Himself on the cross to pay for my sins, so now I get to go to Heaven when I die instead of Hell. You can go to Heaven too! All you have to do is pray to Jesus and admit that you are a sinner who deserves to go to Hell, and ask Him to save you. Then you will become born again, Jesus Himself will live inside you in the person of the Holy Spirit, and you will have an unbreakable reservation in Heaven. You still misunderstand and the reason is because most of the people who say they are follower of Jesus are not. The is a transformation when a person truly accepts Jesus as Lord and Savior. He stated "that you will know them by their fruit" So in this man's case if he truly repented then yes he will be saved. That's why only God can judge us and our heart. I don't know if he was saved only God knows and the man who asked to be forgiven. I know I am forgiven and I ask to be forgiven daily because even though I am saved my flesh does get the better of me. It's an on going daily battle. If you truly want to go on a journey to discover if the Creator I believe in Jesus is the one and only true God then start where I started. Check out Chuck Missler Prophecy 101. It totally opened the door for me to believe with no doubt the Jesus is the Savior and everything in the Bible is true and has NO MISTAKES. I really hope you do. You sound like you are hurting and looking for answers. So I pray you have a God encounter like I did. Praying for you.

+Msc John Doe no one was punished. Everyone sins and therefore is not good enough. One guy made the choice to accept grace from Jesus the others denied him. The gift of grace is for everyone but God will not force you to accept Him. He won't force to spend eternity with Him if you dont want to. Hell is a place absent of Gods love, healing and grace. It is a place of choice where those that deny Jesus can live out their eternity without Him. Unfortunately many people don't accept that God is good and offers grace through Jesus. My heart aches for those that choose eternal seperation from such a loving and giving God.

People just don't understand even when it's written in blood in the bible. YOU ARE FORGIVEN. By the blood of Jesus Christ himself, you are forgiven. God is perfect, he knows humans would and will sin. He knew Jesus would spill his blood for us, he knew that the blood of the lamb wouldn't be enough. He wants faith, he wants you to truly whole heartedly believe in his son for what he did. Faith means to believe, even with absolutely no evidence whatsoever that it's there, but to believe anyways, to maintain hope. If you do that, you can be forgiven. Jesus himself spoke to scared sinners who were afraid of death and punishment for the sins. He looked at them and said "I can assure you, the tax collectors and prostitutes are making it into the kingdom." Do not fear being a sinner, but fear not owning up to your sins, fear not believing in the messiah, fear not the man who kills the body, but he who can kill the soul. Jesus even spoke about eating and drinking in the vineyards among us forgiven sinners. Try to live a righteous life the best you can, but if you mess up, you are forgiven, but don't deny it, don't try to hide it or push it away, admit to it. It's like the justice system today, those who admit their crimes right off the bat are given lighter sentences, those who keep hiding and hiding it not owning up to it are punished more severely. And make sure to actually read the bible. Don't have the time to? Try audio books, try movies, but learn and understand the word of God and you'll realize more than you could have ever possibly imagined.

What about mat 25:23 "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!' The two seemingly contradicting verses have to be rectified. You are not justified by works/doing God's instructions, but you are expected to bear good fruit on this earth - this shows your faith in him. The Grace stuff has been perverted and doesn't tell the whole story. Use the modern day understanding of a 'Grace Period' on paying your insurance premiums - in this context you are alotted a time of grace, but you are expected to make things right during that period. God expects you to start cleaning up your act after you begin following him. it has to be this way, if not then why would christians be a light, how would they be set apart, how would they be a light to the nations. I feel your comment is without context and misleading to the sheep, along with this youtube video.

A lot of people seem to have trouble grasping the concept of this video. This video says no matter how hard we try to do right we won't get to heaven without God's grace. Arrogant people are the ones who try to fix their mistakes instead of accepting them. The man at the end with everything he did wrong got saved because he admitted he couldn't be saved on his own. He stopped trying to make up for everything he'd done. The bible says,"Our righteousness is filthy rags." Paul said,"The wrong I don't want to do I do, and the right I want to do I don't. Who will deliver me from this body of death?" Us trying to do right will not profit us anything. If we believe Jesus died on the cross for all sins past, present, and future in our heart and confess with our mouth God rose Jesus from the dead, then by his Grace our sins are forgiven.

Wow..............I'm giving this a thumb's up because more people need to see how ridiculous vicarious redemption truly is.
Substitutional atonement is the height of absurdity. A man's moral stature is not determined by actions of another, nor are the sins of the guilty redeemed by the torture/murder of an innocent.

I some times feel that way too. But we as believers need to have faith in Him that He'll do what He promises when we do what He says. What I'm doing to help deal with my doubts is continuing to repent for all my sins (like you), trying my best not to sin to begin with, talk to God on a regular (and my pastor), read my Bible, pray, and just simply trust in the Lord. Yes, it's hard, but don't let the devil get in your mind, because he'll try to trick you. I hope this helps a little, good luck!

God does not "send" you to hell for this or that reason... He simply will not let you in His house if you do not accept that He handed over His Son for your sinful nature. It's like owing a lot of money that you don't have and an amazing, generous person comes along and says, "l'll pay off your debt for you." If for some foolish reason you say, "No thanks," you are still going to have to pay. Or think of it this way, you have committed a crime that requires the death sentence and miraculously someone steps forward and says, "I'll take his place. Let him live and take me instead." Why would you say, "No thanks"? Know Jesus, know peace. No Jesus, no peace. Because there is no love in this world, we cannot fathom the depth and height of His love.

How do you expect to find the one true God, if your thoughts are, "I won't serve a God who doesn't think exactly as I do"? A real God would have to do this, or that.... That never made sense to me personally. Read the word, and find out what Gods plan is. Which God you ask? Read and find out. He not only answers this (Jesus), but gives you examples of how he will work in your life through His word.. Put faith in His word (follow it), and you will see Him work in your lives, and you will know he is real.

@zzzubrrr8 жыл бұрын
+Jacob Nydegger No. This is actually more on the question of salvation rather than morality. Morality is how you know that those pink sheets list *objectively bad* deeds. In a naturalistic worldview for example, there are no good/bad, those are just your subjective opinions. And just btw, this video doesn't show a man who decided to do bad things and at the end thinking he will say sorry to Jesus and get away with it.
@zzzubrrr8 жыл бұрын
***** No. Satire would be if the last guy would've been acting all smug. Like if he counted on it that he would get away with anything if he just says sorry at the end. That would be satire, although falsely portraying christianity/salvation. Thats the beauty of christianity, is that you cannot earn your way into heaven. Which is kind of counter-intuitive, and if you look at any man-made religions, that is precisely how you get to heaven, by earning your way.
@Agent1W8 жыл бұрын
And if we can earn our own way into Heaven, why would we need God? Why even recognize God? The dirty little secret is that we need God far more than what we can do for ourselves.

Combining the two best aspects of christiasnity: public shaming and the fact that the bible is so vague and open to interpretation that each and every Belieber has a different concept of what it takes for their god not to arbitrarily spank them for all of eternity.
What is the point of this video? no matter who you help or save you will be condemned just because you were taught the wrong beliefs. I have always hated religious people who think this way, why would an all powerful God be so self centered as to want complete worship over those who wish to help others.
@FantasticMoist Жыл бұрын
Adding on to this I also assume that this belief was just made by people to reflect themselves in God. Though man is warped by vanity, the creator shouldn't be, and if it is then I would rather burn forever than accept it. This is ultimately what made me leave this religion, treat life as your Heaven and Hell without worshiping anything, just be thankful for life.
@glennjohn3919 Жыл бұрын
@@FantasticMoist It has nothing to do with being taught the wrong beliefs (in fact I was taught wrong beliefs myself growing up). It has to do with the human heart. God has made His presence abundantly clear through his creation, conscience, and the Word of God. God will judge all based what they knew and what they could have known had they chose to do the right thing. All who seek God will find Him. You will be judged for your sin without God. God has an open door for you to be forgiven, just seek him in child like faith and you will find him.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast. Ep 2:8-9 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebreus 11:6 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see Hb 11:1 Mt 22:37-40

Nobody is perfect: you decide how to live your own life -If you seek to worship God you will live with him forever -If you ignore the obvious presense of God you will get your wish fullfilled and be forever without him - and thus your right to excercise free will is preserved - God wants all humans to be saved

Pfeh there's some real devoted Christians in this comment section. I see this reaction countless times and of course this video is not satire, it clearly states this in the description. Don't you think it is weird that God would let you into heaven even though you've commited horrible crimes against other humans? Just because you have accepted Jesus Christ? To me, this is the main problem with all (fanatic) religions. It follows the thought that there is one 'right' God and the followers of other religions are just sinners that will not get into heaven and are therefore less than you. This leads to countless pointless conflicts in the world and silences any debate. When I (as an agnostic) say to you "I think you will not get into heaven because you have raped and killed ten people" and your reply is "Yes I will because I've accepted Jesus" then what's the point? Would this mean that heaven is full of knights who pillaged Jerusalem during the crusades? Can any serial killer get into heaven like this? Seems like a cheap ticket.
@luclaatjewazabro4 жыл бұрын
@Switch321 Thank you for your respectfull reply and explanation. Here is my response and view on the matter. I would not say it offends me (I hardly ever am offended) but it does bother me to some degree, yes. I do believe there are worst 'sins' (I am not a devout Christian so the concept of all sins being equally bad seems strange to me), killing another human being seems worse to me than steeling some candies. I do not see myself as a perticularly good human, I drink and party a lot, but do believe that I bring more joy in peoples hearth than I bring pain. In this way I do reap what I sow, I like my life right now, which has not always been the case. I would say that there are several examples of those who have killed and deem themselve good Christians and worthy of heaven. The Crusades are a very good example of this, the knights went to the 'Holy Land' and killed thousands in the name of God. Or take for example 'General Butt Naked', seen in this documentary kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIPYhIZmns55r9E on the cannibal warlords of liberia. He ate humans and had child soldiers but is now a dedicated priest of God. Do you believe that he will get into heaven? If so, heaven to me seems like a bad place to be in because of all these people. There are those Christians (like you) that want to bring people to the word of God with conversation and reason. With these people I have no problem, I can reason with them and have a open debate. I always learn something. However, there are also those that bring religion with violence. That is my main concern with all major religions. Wars have been fought over Christianity, Islam and Judaism. It seems pity, because in my eyes these worship the same God. So with this, I do have a problem. That being said, when I read the scriptures you posted, I must say that it does appeal to me. I am planning on reading the Bible (and after that the Quran and the Tanakh). The chances of me converting to any religion are very small, but I will read them for the sake of learning and better understanding your religion. Thank you again for your reply and your prayers. May the Gods that may be or no be bless you to and I hope you have a wonderful day and life.

I can see what this is trying to say but I'm worried it makes it seem like you can just live an evil life while at the same time having God accept you because you think you're some kind of Christian.
@gajettokeibu82209 жыл бұрын
+ObieMe1 I totally understand what you're saying and to a certain extent it is true.. but to be fair, people don't need to use God's grace as an excuse to do evil.. I guess the problem of the human heart is pride and self centeredness no matter what you believe in. Some people don't need to believe in God to act as selfish pricks. The mostatrocious genocides, massacres come either from people with atheist ideology as a foundation (late/speculative capitalism and communism) with well over 100 million victims just for the XX century.. Or Either by religious corrupted systems/institutions such as the catholic church during the inquisition or Islam right now with ISIS.. (non-exhaustive..). Now you see, it's human beings who are responsible for those actions. It is not the idea of a gracious God who dies for his enemies.. and I would even go as far as to defend communism which has fairness and equality principles in its core values.. When men control, manipulate, steal, kill, lie, use, abuse other men for power, profit or pure megalomania sometimes then "religion" becomes just a means to an end.. We are far from the Jesus of the Bible who opposed those fanatic self-righteous leaders and taught self-sacrifice as well as loving your enemies and praying for those who persecute you. Ultimately, the way Jesus lived his life and asks his followers to emulate does not invite you to live an evil life..

Is that NOT what Christianity says, it is not through works but through Grace? According to this christian "Grace" a rapist murder petophile can spend years raping and mursing children, then get caught put on death row, find Jesus and repeat and be born again then spend eternity in heaven.....And an atheist that spend his entire life feeding the poor and hungry, studying science and curing deadly disease, being a good father, husband, and citizen and die and be spend an ETERNITY in torture for it..Is that NOT what Christianity DOES say?
