The real star of the film was the location of the shoot: Spain. The desert of Spain, somewhere in the middle of the country, perhaps the Southern part of the country. Perfect for a story about the Western Theatre of The Civil War.

One thing about this film I always found fascinating is its depiction of morality. Blondie is labeled as the protagonist even though he ends up killing more people than anyone else in the entire film, and his main motivation is really the same as the other 2 characters: Greed.

Blondie is still ultimately the most “good” of the three, since he shows enough compassion towards Tuco not too murder him at the end, and shows compassion too a dying soldier too give him on last smoke before he passes. Tuco is the ugly because his life is ugly. Angel Eyes is The Bad because he has the evilest heart of the three.

Stoked to find your channel. All of the movies you are choosing seem to be great. But this one in particular holds a special place in my heart. Watched it a dozen times or so with my dad when I was a kid into my teenage years and now I will be passing that torch to my son soon. Thanks for making this video!

Tuco is one of my all time favorite characters Blondie in this of course is the epitome of badass Angel Eyes defined what it means to be the antagonist

For real! I have many great memories sharing this movie with others, like the first time my dad showed it to me or the first time I showed it to my brother and even seeing it in a crowded cinema a few years ago
