Another commonly asked question I’ve been asked is what did I do to take care of my hair while abroad (especially as a black woman) 1. Protective Style: I heavily recommend wearing your hair in a protective style as it will be easier to manage while traveling. 2. Hair salon on ship: there is a hair salon on the ship and I was surprised to see that they had someone who knew how to work with black hair. However, I wouldn’t rely too heavily on the ship salon bc they change staff each voyage (so they may have someone who doesn’t know how to do black hair). 3. Wearing hair out naturally: once my protective style did start growing out, I decided to wear my hair out in a twist out style for a couple of days. 4. Getting hair done in-country: I made plans prior to get my hair braided in Kenya. If your voyage happens to stop in a country in Africa, I highly recommend getting it done there! It’s super affordable and it’s a great experience! 5. Bring hair care products: In general, make sure you’re stocked up on all your hair care products as they will be hard to find while traveling. If you know how to braid your own hair or install wigs, definitely bring braiding hair or wigs with you!

My favorite food to eat on the ship was the bread rolls and surprisingly the rice 😂 (the rice was sooo good for some reason) and then I loved eating the coffee cake for desert
