Ὑμῖν μὲν, ὦ ἀκροαταί, ἥδε ἡ φωνογραφία διὰ τῆς ἐν Ἱεροσολύμοις κοινωνίας, ᾗ δὴ ὄνομά ἐστι Πόλις, εἰς κοινὴν ὠφέλειαν κεχορήγηται.
Εἰ δὲ καὶ ἀρέσκοι ὑμῖν τὸ ἄκουσμα καὶ ἀξιοκοινώνητον δοκοίη, ἡμᾶς γ' ἂν ἀντωφελοῖτε ἀναδεικνύντες τε φίλοις, μαθηταῖς, διδασκάλοις, καὶ ἀποδεχόμενοι τὰ ἡμέτερα τεχνήματα καθ' ἕκαστον καὶ κατὰ τὸ συσωλήνιον καὶ ἐπὶ www.polisjerusalem.org.

Does Polis use the same pronunciation as BLC? Biblical language center?

Polis Institute uses what is called early high koine, which is earlier than erasmian. The Biblical language center uses koine, which is later than erasmian but earlier than modern pronunciation. Generally erasmian is the most used pronunciation in classes.

@@veritas399 Actually, Koine Greek was born as a result of Alexander the Great and Aristotle. Koine is in no way later than Erasmiun (1466=1536.) It's apples and oranges. You're comparing a way of pronouncing a dialect (Erasmiun, Restored, Modern, High) with the actual dialect (Attic Greek, Homeric Greek, Doric Greek, Koine (Common) Greek.)

You're comparing a way of pronouncing a dialect (Erasmiun, Restored, Modern, High) with the actual dialect (Attic Greek, Homeric Greek, Doric Greek, Koine (Common) Greek.) On their website, I read that they use what they call high Attic which is mostly Attic Greek, and some Koine, the instructor noting the differences along the way. In any case, Koine is a dialect, and Erasmian is a way of pronouncing Koine Greek.

(According to their book, Speaking Greek as a living language) The early high koine is like erasmian except for the constants Φ, θ and Χ. The Biblical language center uses reconstructed koine modeled after the way Greek was pronounced around 50 AD.
