It usually leaves me feeling somewhat sad that men work so hard to discredit the Living God, made manifest in Christ Jesus. This belligerent denial has continued since the 2nd Temple Jews, and I think it takes far less effort to let Christ define Himself. John 18:20 Jesus answered him, *"I have spoken openly to the world; I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where all the Jews come together; and I spoke nothing in secret."*

All the books are scriptures you can always learn from them. Look at the four Gospels they came later on after the Epistles were written by Paul. This is white in the writing of Paul you never see him say words that Jesus said but he talked about Jesus but not about what he said because when he wrote the epistle to four Gospels did not exist yet. So when Paul said about false scriptures. Matthew Mark Luke and John did not exist so who knows what he was talking about

@Blue Angel That's ridiculous, he was expounding on the message of Jesus in all his epistles, his theology is obvious and perfectly fits with the Gospels. He also uses creeds pre-dating him. Furthermore St. Luke also wrote Acts of the Apostles wherein we find good information on how the Church developed after Christ ascended and also St. Paul's conversion and participation in the life of the Church. There is also the Didache dating from 70AD which gives us some information. Such irrational and mad skepticism, my God, throw out Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Napoleon, etc. Double standard.

Hi! Could you do one about the Deutero-canonical books of the Old Testament? I'm Catholic so we read the Septuagint Bible. I would just like your analysis of it and whether or not it is justifiable to remove them or keep them in the biblical canon. Thank you!

Rabbis removed them from their masoretic canon when they decided to formalize it around 1000 aD. The version of the books we have in the Septuagint in common with the masoretic text is clearly older when analized anyway. If as a Christian you think you should be bound to the opinion of medieval Jewish Rabbis then it was justified. I for one I have nothing against them but I'd rather listen to the fathers of the church.

Its just one of many stories of Jesus. Looking at it from a purely objective point of view its to be expected. You get all sorts of versions and interpretations of history and many other religions have widely divergent sects and beliefs. I just find it odd that people who don't believe in God in the first place use biblical texts to try and discredit stuff they don't believe in anyway. I couldn't care less about it, it's just interesting to see what people have believed throughout the existence of humanity. Humans have never been within religion and if believing in the teachings of Jesus whatever they truly were makes people happy or can help them then I see no reason to go against it.

Except for the fact that knowledge was not attained from that fruit. It seems like the fruit of knowledge of good and evil is basically the experience of it. Like when a dad tells his son not to do drugs because they're bad, and the son believes it. But maybe the son says to himself, how can I know that it's bad unless I try them. And just with that decision he ruins his life and his relationship. The fruit of "knowledge" was more akin to the fruit of prideful idiocy where someone says "you have never done me harm, you always guide me Well, but I think I know better"

None of the disciples wrote any of the gospels. It wasn't claimed as such until later. The Gospels were written by literate Greek speakers across the Eastern empire. Either through eye witness testimony in some cases or oral tradition. Hence you get some differences in recording. I'm not Christian but I don't think its a big deal. Ask multiple different people to recall the life and teachings of a famous man and they may well given different accounts but ultimately come to very similar conclusions or recollections even if they aren't entirely consistent. Then you might get very different interpretations based on someone with pretty different ideas that doesn't really agree with the rest giving their version which then gets changed over time. Ultimately I don't think it should be so huge a deal to Christians or non-Christians alike. There is more than enough that is consistent to understand Jesus and some contradictions shouldn't be a huge deal. I'm not even religious personally but I think people who try and downplay a religion by pointing out differences and inconsistencies are largely nitpicking and missing the whole point.

@@belaireguy4117 "Why is this a great video as I am actually surprised any time was given it?" Because its my opinion that IP did a great job in explaining it, and giving evidence for why it wasn't included in the main Gospels. If you have anything that refutes the claims he makes, as we as refutations of the evidence ge presented, then show it. "As far as I am concerned, anything related to the Bible meaning or bringing some grand truth to it is a waste of time." Then why are you here? "An argument that has been refuted a countless number of times and if the universe is chaotic for a moment, which it is, the argument is rendered moot." Which is why I asked for a follow up to see what IP has to say about such claims. "It is complex but far from perfect, much of the time chiming in as unfair and uncaring, so I do not deny its complexity, its beautiful with the chaos just being a complement." I never claimed that the universe was perfect. "Why is knowing how important?" So we can understand how or why something occured. Thats why we have science. The so-called Gospel of Judas was written by a religious cult called the Gnostics, 150 years after the time of Christ’s ministry on earth. The name “Gnostic” comes from the Greek word “gnosis,” which means “knowledge.” The Gnostics believed that they had knowledge that no one else had, and that the way to be saved was to get this knowledge, and progress into the world of the spirit. In 180 A.D. Irenaeus, a Christian who defended the truth about Jesus, mentioned that some people were reading The Gospel of Judas in his book, Against Heresies. And Irenaeus said that The Gospel of Judas is really a book filled with heretical false teachings. The Gospel of Judas says that Judas wasn’t really a bad man. It says that Judas was the greatest disciple of Jesus, who actually did something very good when he handed Jesus over to be killed. As Dr. Marvin Meyer, one of the translators of the document, wrote, “The Judas Iscariot of the Gospel of Judas is the betrayer of Jesus, but he is simultaneously the hero of the gospel” (ibid., p. 3). This book truly is “Christianity turned on its head” (the title of a chapter in the book, presenting commentary by Dr. Bart D. Ehrman; ibid., p. 77). “This gospel has a completely different understanding of God, the world, Christ, salvation, human existence…” (Ehrman, ibid., p. 80). According to this false Gospel, Jesus asked Judas to betray Him so He could be free from human flesh and enter the realm of “pure spirit.” In this book of deception and error, Jesus supposedly says to Judas, “You will exceed all of them [the other disciples]. For you will sacrifice the man [my body] that clothes me [my spirit]” (ibid., p. 43). “For Jesus in The Gospel of Judas, death is no tragedy, nor is it a necessary evil to bring about the forgiveness of sins” (Meyer, introductory notes; ibid., p. 4). Ladies and gentlemen, that book is a lie from the Devil! It says that Jesus didn’t die in order to pay for your sins - but only to get rid of His body and become a spirit - and that He didn’t physically rise from the dead! As Dr. Ehrman comments, in the false Gospel of Judas, There will be no resurrection. This is perhaps the key point of all. Jesus will not be raised from the dead in this book. Why would he be? The entire point of salvation is to escape this material world…a resurrection of the body is the very last thing that Jesus, or any of his true followers, would want [according to that false Gospel of Judas] (ibid., page 110). To borrow a few words from Dr. A. W. Tozer, “I call it heresy!” The Gospel of Judas isn’t the Gospel at all! It is what the Bible calls “another gospel” - a false teaching about salvation, which denies the true meaning of Jesus’ death and resurrection. Why are so many people interested in The Gospel of Judas today? Why, for the same reason that so many people were interested back in the second century - the book tells people what they want to hear! As the Apostle Paul wrote to the Galatians, “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel. Which is not another [it really isn’t the gospel; in fact there isn’t any other gospel]; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ” (Galatians 1:6-7). Is there another Gospel? Not in truth - that’s why Paul says “which is not another” in Galatians 1:7. There really isn’t any other gospel! The Gospel of Judas is a forgery written late in the second century! Paul explained the real Gospel when he wrote to the Corinthians, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel…that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures” (I Corinthians 15:1, 3-4). That is the only real Gospel! That is the only way to be saved! Jesus, who died and rose from the dead, is the only way to go to Heaven. All other world religions, all other systems of belief, lead to Hell! That’s why the Apostle Paul wrote, “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:9). Accursed! The Greek word translated “accursed” in the King James Bible is “anathema” - the strongest possible condemnation. Christians are told to reject any so-called “gospel” which does not present salvation through the Bloody death of Jesus and His glorious physical resurrection! You may say, “What does the false Gospel of Judas have to do with me? Why are you talking about it?” I say to you that its errors are just the same errors that unconverted people throughout all the centuries of history have believed and followed in their lives. They are the same lies that are so often believed today. I will give you four of these lies. I. First, the lie that salvation comes by learning. The so-called Gospel of Judas is a Gnostic book, not written by Judas, but forged by the Gnostic heretics. The word “Gnostic” comes from the Greek word “gnosis,” which means “knowledge.” These Gnostic heretics believed that salvation doesn’t come by the Bloody death and the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ, but instead through a process of learning - of receiving some sort of secret knowledge. That’s why the introduction to the English translation of the Gospel of Judas says,

Ahh, just because you wrote so much does not mean you know more. In ALLthe books, before we even found and interpreted the book of Judas, we see Jesus asking Judas to turn him in. He wanted to fulfill the prophesy. Christianity is part Gnostic , this is why we celebrate the death of Jesus at Easter . The release of his soul to heaven. BTW ALL of the books and scrolls were written hundreds of years after ALL the apostles were dead and gone

@@mayj257 no they weren't, the copies of them were. Matthew's gospel was even known to have been written in Hebrew or aramaic. Just research it. For there to be copies and origional had to exist, the peigionals just got old and basically fell apart, that doesnt mean that texts written earlier weren't circulating.

@@WingedBagels He really doesn't. Just read the book of sirach, proverbs, etc. The fruit of knowledge wasn't a fruit of Actual knowledge, but more akin to relying on only your own knowledge, which leads only to dead ends. The so called fruit of knowing good and evil seems more like when a dad tells his son not to do drugs because they're bad. But the son tells himself, "how can I know they're bed unless I have the knowledge of it by experiencing them ? Thus I will try them" after making this decision, he does so and thus he devastates himself and his relationship with his dad, whom he could have trusted. The whole point of the fruit of knowledge was that it really wasn't knowledge, but pride.

Thanks for opening my eyes to the origin of this so-called gospel. Are all of the apocryphal texts also from the Gnostics? I have been interested in seeing what they say, but only if they are from more trusted sources. There could be many reasons why they weren’t included as canon but it doesn’t necessarily mean they aren’t truthful. I would also like to know your opinion on why the gospels consider Judas to have been possessed by Satan and condemned for ‘betraying’ Jesus. In my thoughts, I feel that Judas was part of God’s plan because someone had to turn him over for death so he could die for our sins and be resurrected. How else would Jesus have been able to save us?

Hello IP, Im a Christian that means i believe in God but im not sure how can i trust God fully, i mean Bible describes God is unpredictable (i guess) and out of our understanding so we can only understand him in a very very limited way. Its like the problem when we say what it is like to be like a cat or what a cat is thinking, i mean God can read everybody's mind and know whats in our hearts but we cant, we are not as powerful as Him or all knowing, and its not a problem for me, the problem is how can i trust him if i dont understand or know him fully, its just not fair. And finally let me make myself very clear im not saying that God is hinding any important thing from us or something but basically im saying i cant know that. And im also aware that im able to understand all this because God has given me this ability to think about this kind of stuff but it seems to me its unfalse-able or untestable. And its very important to me because i love my Heavenly Father, and it will break my heart if He is not like how He tells us He is. I understand its a very difficult question but thank you for reading my question. So to sum up because of our limits as humans (which i have no problems with) we cant fully understand/know God, therefore we cant TRUST Him (again not saying He is hiding something from us but what im saying is i CANT KNOW)

Cowboy Samurai, no one can comprehend God fully. In order to know him fully we ourselves will have to be God, which will be contradicton. I think what I'll say is if you or anyone abides in God, to them He reveals himself more to them. God had this relationship with us it was we humans who severed that relationship. But still God is good enough to reveal himself and his love to those who seek him.

Reading the books of the New Testament, we probably asked ourselves more than once: *"Why 2000 years we do not see those miracles that accompanied the Сhurch of Christ in the I century, as described in the New Testament?"* Why do the so-called preachers of Christ have to prove that Jesus really existed and atheists boldly deny the historicity or divine origin of Christ? Maybe because the Сhurch of Christ has not existed for 2000 years? The Сhurch does not exist in the form in which it is presented in the books of the New Testament, but there are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant and other christian sects claiming to be the place of the Church, but they not have the only thing that distinguishes the divine from the human and is characteristic of just the Сhurch of Christ -the reinforcement of the word with signs, that is, miracles (Mark 16:15-20). Therefore, some researchers doubt the historicity of Christ, and some of them are not opposed to declaring him a an ordinary philosopher, teacher. But even if Jesus were an ordinary philosopher, his disciples would be ordinary followers of Jesus. And they would not dare to write about the miracles that not only Jesus, but also his disciples, could perform. In this world, the great fertility of atheism can be explained by the fact that there is no main opponent of critics of the Bible - the Church. If there were the Church in our time as described by the authors of the New Testament books, where miracles are performed, the sick are healed, where prophesied, and the dead are raised, no one would doubt the historicity of Christ. Then there would be the same controversy throughout the world as in the first century - Jesus the Son of God or the false prophet who seduces the world by miracles. As a result, we can say that the emergence and development of christian sects and atheism was the result of the fact that over the 2000 years the Сhurch of Christ did not exist. Find *"The Mystery about the Church of Christ"* video on KZbin. The video reveals the prophecy of the disappearance and reappearance of the Church of Christ before the End of the World. Watching this video will give hope to all who sincerely seek God and will interest those who are not too lazy to think freely. The most notorious traitor in history may have been one of its greatest martyrs, a crumbling, 1,700-year-old manuscript was found in caves in the area north and east of El Minya, Egypt, it first surfaced in the late 1970s, the document was assembled and translated by a team of scholars over a number of years and released to the public in April 2006. The ancient document purports to tell the true story of Jesus’ last days from the perspective of Judas, the “Gospel” claims that Judas was not a traitor at all, but a hero who faithfully followed Jesus’ orders to give him up. The document was written anonymously around 300 A.D. in Coptic script and repeats alleged conversations between the two men, revealing that in betraying Christ, Judas was fulfilling a divine mission. The manuscript was in such bad shape restorers had to reassemble more than 1,000 pieces before it could be translated. It was recently authenticated by carbon dating and painstakingly translated. The anonymously written document is authentic.

IP, here's something that's been kind of troubling me lately- although its probably not a big deal. Whenever a family member or someone close to us dies, we feel sad. Even Christians do. But why do we feel sad when we'll be resurrected and this is all a part of God's plan? When we grieve for the loss of a loved one, we almost forget these beliefs, sure remembering them relieves us, but during the initial grieving process we focus on their deaths rather than where they'll go or that it's God's plan. It's almost like there's an inherently known truth that there is no next life, and grieving is just a natural thing. We only don't realize this truth is self evident because of our beliefs. Again this might not seem too troubling, but I'd like to hear what you'd say. Thank you.

Well if I were to add my two cents, taking this and many other religious/spiritual beliefs, suicide/suicide-like death wouldn't succeed in that and is actually in ways say it's counter intuitive in my words. If that was the case, in this text , Jesus could've just off'd himself but didn't and required judas to be the hand that does so. I see it as Jesus knows his fate and how he will end and can't change it so he mentions it and accepts it. In vice versa with Christian belief, Jesus technically was only able to "ascend" after his death by the betrayal of judas.

A contradiction in the Christian bible you can't really explain: in the Torah, Genesis 23:8-19, it is told that Avraham bought the Machpelah Cave, which is in *Hebron* , from *Ephron* : 8 He said to them, “If you are willing to let me bury my dead, then listen to me and intercede with Ephron son of Zohar on my behalf 9 so he will sell me the cave of Machpelah, which belongs to him and is at the end of his field. Ask him to sell it to me for the full price as a burial site among you.” 10 Ephron the Hittite was sitting among his people and he replied to Abraham in the hearing of all the Hittites who had come to the gate of his city. 11 “No, my lord,” he said. “Listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the presence of my people. Bury your dead.” 12 Again Abraham bowed down before the people of the land 13 and he said to Ephron in their hearing, “Listen to me, if you will. I will pay the price of the field. Accept it from me so I can bury my dead there.” 14 Ephron answered Abraham, 15 “Listen to me, my lord; the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver, but what is that between you and me? Bury your dead.” 16 Abraham agreed to Ephron’s terms and weighed out for him the price he had named in the hearing of the Hittites: four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weight current among the merchants. 17 So Ephron’s field in Machpelah near Mamre-both the field and the cave in it, and all the trees within the borders of the field-was deeded 18 to Abraham as his property in the presence of all the Hittiteswho had come to the gate of the city.19 Afterward Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave in the field of Machpelahnear Mamre (which is at Hebron) in the land of Canaan. And from the Christian bible, Acts 7:14-16, suddenly Avraham bought the Machpelah Cave from the *sons of Hamor* , and the cave is in *Shechem* : 14 After this, Joseph sent for his father Jacob and his whole family, seventy-five in all.15 Then Jacob went down to Egypt, where he and our ancestors died. 16 Their bodies were brought back to Shechem and placed in the tomb that Abraham had bought from the sons of Hamor at Shechem for a certain sum of money.

@@dmx7329 Stop these Christianic lies. In Acts it said "Jacob went down to Egypt, *where he and our ancestors died* . Their bodies were brought back to Shechem" *Jacob's ancestors, Isaac, Avraham, Rebecca and Sarah are all buried in the Machpela Cave which is in Hebron!* So how come suddenly he brought them to Schechem if it's a known thing his *ancestors* are in the Machpelah Cave in Hebron? I'll tell you why the author of the Christian Bible got confused... because Joseph himself got buried in Shechem! Come on you can be smarter than all these lies you been told... you're in denial right now.

@@roya4262 the torah was not even written by moses. Rabbinical scholars are even admitting the exodus probably didnt happen, and if it did not at all lile its depicted in the torah. Furthermore, scholars have proof that it may have been written in babylonian exile and if that's is true you can see where Jeremiah warns against trusting the prophets in babylonian exile and says they tell lies. Furthermore again, the bible and even tanakh talks about the lying pen of the scribes and traditions of men not commanded by The Father. You should really research these things, also the Jews currently residing in Israel are not real Jews.

Some of the scriptures in the nag hamadi predate the new testement wich you didn't mention you also didn't mention how there are two copies of the gospel of Thomas one was tested that could of gone back to the time of jesus him self which was written in Coptic and then a second one written in Greek which was written either around the same time of the new testement or just after so ur testing paragraph is not a factual one thouhh dating items is never 100 percent accurate but instead of going with actual scientific testing you leaned towards your own views as much as you might not like to admit it the gospel of Thomas is much much older then any of the new testement

A rhetorical question I ask... Who wrote the book of Judas? Who wrote this book of lies? The answer is right in front of us all,... and yet hidden in plain sight. I tell you it was written between 150-300AD and it was written by Judas Iscariot himself. Judas Iscariot Baron Rothschild Baron of life. Lord of Money. Betrayer of the Slain Lamb who has Risen. Deceiver of this world. Satan entered into him and he is who Jeremiah was speaking of in Jeremiah 8:8... The scriptures lead us to a Savior and our Savior provides us the Holy Spirit, so that way we can understand what is truth and what is lies in the scriptures. You must sacrifice your flesh body to provide a temple for the Holy Spirit to dwell in. Catholicism, Nazism, Zionism and Islam are all paintings of his hand. And if Judas Iscariot Baron Rothschild lives until the return of Christ what is that to you? You must fallow Christ the Messiah!

For the Gnostics and for other mystery religions, it was an inner development. They were trying to see and experience reality outside of thought and that is the reason for so many symbols and metaphors. Thought takes words literally which means that the words and ideas are rigid and dead. To perceive the unknown which is not structured, the approach also has to be unstructured. If one takes a structural approach, it then becomes chasing the known and is a self-fulfilling and not a self-understanding.

@stridedeck

Since I am alive 2,000 years after the texts were written, delivered, and discussed by the authors, clearly, I am using my experiences and research into understanding the Gnostic and other mystery religions. For example, 76 times, "faith" and all its derivatives (faithfully, faithfulness, believe) are mentioned in the Old and New Testament and not one verse gives an actual literal definitions. Instead, "faith" is used as a noun to some internal human development out of which comes love and hope. Again, faith is not used as an intellectual outcome and result, but as an internal development. Christianity gives us an intellectual approach which goes against the usage of faith in the Bible.

These gnostics are eerily similar to Buddhism - both groups try to reach enlightenment through wisdom, both have a teacher that teaches this wisdom, and both believe they will leave this realm once they attain it.

There are actually documents belonging to Buddhist monasteries in India that state that Jesus, aka Issa, which means son of God spent time at a monastery there. A Lama explained the scope, along with the level of enlightenment, which Jesus had managed to achieve during his time at the monastery and this was said to be an extreme level. The Lama said that Jesus was a great prophet and had been the first following twenty-two Buddha’s. He went on to say that he was greater than all of the Dalai Lamas as he constituted the spirituality of the Lord.
