I know that Frieda's character is being exaggerated, but if a girl like that had been at my school not a single person would have taken a damn thing she said to heart. Everyone would be gossiping about her instead and what a horrible person she was. It is really hard to believe any of these characters taking her seriously when she talks like that.

What shocks me most is that Frieda is never disciplined for this or that the narrator brings this up considering it was HER Gossip that broke the two friends apart.

People talk about girls today being dressed in clothes too old for them, but in the past this often happened much more than today (they're often were no separate kids clothes, and teens weren't even considered a thing not too long ago). They look so much older when you look at old photos of kids and teens.

It's mostly due to how 'dressing like an adult' changes over time, now a days, girls dressing older than they are means wearing stuff that revelng and over sexualized, while back then it meant looking like a house wife, its just this underling issue of girls being forced to grow up really fast.
