I love this kind of renovation, keeping most of the building itself intact and just fixing up things. A lot more realistic, it feels like if someone got to the actual building and did an actual renovation instead of bulldozing and starting from scratch. It also makes it much easier to keep characteristic stuff from the original (the shape itself already goes a long way).

I really love how this came out, especially considering it's just base game. I don't play legacy and Sims 4 is my first sims game so I really know nothing about the lore of different families. All I know is some basics about the Goths and Landgrabs since I see them mentioned the most. So I've always wanted to fix the Goth house but just feel overwhelmed with the amount of space and unsure how to decorate to match the character's personalities. At this point I kinda just wait for you to reno these houses so I don't have to. 😅 As I said, I really know nothing about these sims, but having said that I really do like Alexander's room. Since he doesn't have as much of a defined personality I was kind of imagining what he is like based on the items you chose. So I kinda like the idea that he has that castle doll house. It makes me think that he really likes the fantasy world and likes to play with his dolls, maybe as a knight who fights dragons to save a princess. Which made me think maybe his fascination with knights comes from all the statues in the house. 😂 Also, someone in the comments mentioned how the science table really fits him cause he seems the type to turn into a mad scientist. So I thought it'd be kinda cute if maybe it was an old science table his parents had and he finds it one day and it becomes his new hobby. So since no one really goes in the attic much it becomes like a secret play space for him to do his 'experiments', which is also perfect cause that was technically his room so in a way it's still his.

For my reno of the goth house. i decided the best use for the little top area was a greenhouse vibe to make it look like a nod to the adams family. I put roses all over the build and caved and used romantic garden stuff to play up the effect

Idea for a series on duplexes: opposite personalities/styles on either side. For example, one side is an avid traveler who loves the outdoors and the other side is a homebody who enjoys relaxation and the comforts of home.

This is magnificent!! Oh my goodness, it looks so good! I really appreciate your struggle building with just base game too 😅 Especially for the kids’ rooms, I think it’s a lot more difficult. But you did a fantastic job! I love all the rooms, but I think the kitchen is my favorite. 🙊 I also love seeing the before and after in the screenshots at the end. SO satisfying. 😆 Great job!

Thank you for keeping it the original shape!!!! It's such an iconic shape that everyone just removes and makes it loke any other gothic house. I personally love to keep alexander in the attic. I know people think people always see this as an outsider and how horrible it would be in the attic but this is the goth, alexander would love to be living with the ghosts in the attic

@@Gryphi the goths are my favorite and I'm always playing with them. If you notice in the original one Alexander's attic stairs go straight to his parents door, they are actually close by a lot when you play. I was actually looking for videos to inspire me in renovation their house (mainly I'm bringing to a bigger lot so I can have the classic cemetery in the backyard). I always try to think about the Adams and what would they do, and one thing about the Adams is they are the opposite of what a happy family is portrayed, being the weird and darks ones, but they are still happier than most 50's household style families, no matter how weird they are That's why my Alexander goth has a ghost cow plant in his little bedroom in the attic right now :D

This is the best Goth Reno that I’ve seen yet! So glad you did this one, and the TIMING on it is perfect too! I just saw the patch notes for the pre-life & death update, and I’m so excited to play with the Goths, eventually have Mortimer and Bella as ghosts, while Cassandra raises Grim’s baby (she’s gloomy so I decided she would date death) and Alexander goes full mad scientist.

Game had issues and I haven’t been able to play earn anything since. Sigh. Bummer. We should be able to start over since the game is so dang buggy. 😢

I have always adored Ophelia Villa (the Goth Family Home) since I started playing the Xbox One version of The Sims 4 abou six years ago. It's definitely my kind of home. I really like the original version of the Goth family home but your renovation has brought more life to it. I personally think that the attic space would make a nice astronomy tower. If you haven't already, could you renovate the Spencer-Kim-Lewis home? Great job as always.

In my save, the goths have three more children (two being twin infants)😭. I decided to use Bella as my sim to complete the Reaper Reward Quests, and it has been such a mess taking care of the toddlers and infants. I will definitely be downloading this, since I only have base game. 🖤💜

hello! here are some tips for basegame builds: 1. you can use paintings from the gallery. they are completely basegame. 2. you can change the light colour, this could change atmosphere a lot. hope this helps :)
